In an application, color code the application and screening sections so it's clear where you are.

Let's go a step further and color code everything, the applicant's dashboard.
It is difficult to distinguish between tabs (active requests and historical requests) and make the "edit" word link a button that is color-coded with the option to edit it accordingly. Let's say I want a follow up that requires a signature, I could edit the "edit" word to say "signature required" and this would be in a button format.
Also - it is confusing as messages like"If your organization information does not appear correct, please contact the funder. Thank you." is in BLUE the same color that is used to Edit follow up forms, to "contact email history," the organization information, every click through is in blue.
