campaign mailing labels
Pleeeeease either have the campaign mailing labels in Word doc format, alphabetical by last name or make a better export. The PDF labels are NOT in alphabetical order...no idea what order is used. AND there are so many doubles because it prints the persons home AND work addresses. Printing from guest list doesn't include the person's work. Exporting the list produces a list that is alphabetical by PREFIX, then FIRST name...who does that? So it lists all the Dr. then Mr. and Mrs. then Mr. then Ms.
So frustrating that soooo much time has to be used to manipulate the spreadsheet just to get something usable for labels.
This was completed with the campaign rollout.

Getting labels prepared with campaigns is the worst part of doing mailings with the campaign feature. I absolutely loathe this process. It takes hours and hours. If I download the label document, I have to try to edit it with Adobe which is piddly and terrible...if I download the CSV file, I have groom through and remove tons of unnecessary columns and make all sorts of adjustments with the organization of names (first/last/company name)..there's so many issues with the label system in campaigns, we really struggle with this.

I 100% agree with all of these comments. If we could just edit the labels and have them print in alphabetical order that would be so useful! Please help!

I've spent all day updating profiles, both Individual and Organizations to include the Mailing Label name. When I export the CSV file the "Name" is for the Individual, First and Last. the "Company" displays the Organization name is some cases, but not others even though all of the same fields for all Organizations has been entered the exact same. I am entering the Org name in the Salutation field as well so that when I export I can actually have a full list of the Orgs. The "Sort Name" appears to pull in all the information I need except for individuals it displays last name, first name. What this means is that when I export this CSV to do a mail merge for my labels is that I have to pull data from 2 different columns just to get a name and then have to do alot of editing to the labels afterwards as it pulls in too much information. The CSV file should have just 1 column with Mailing Label that should display all Mailing Label profile data and only 1 address per profile unless Mailing is checked off multiple times. Also, as mentioned above, when Mailing Labels is selected it creates the PDF in no particular order, doesn't include alot of Org names and alot of the longer org names don't fit on the page.

I've also found that the PDF document that is meant to be used for labels cuts off names and street addresses that don't fit into the formatting. We are not able to use this and have to run our own labels from Word where we run into the problems described above.
I think there is a link between choosing the Mailing checkbox in the profile and these labels but I haven't had time to investigate further.
