Add a Comment Summary feature so all comments on a form can be viewed at a glance
Hi all,
We use the "Add Comment" feature all the time to give our applicants feedback on their LOIs. We then have a box on our application form where we ask the applicants to reply to these comments and questions that we leave on their LOI.
While this has been convenient for us in general, a number of applicants have a tough time finding our comments (despite the fact that they are now blue).
It would be great if our applicants (and us) could see all comments on a form at a glance.
To that end, could you possibly add a "Comment Summary" PDF button at the top of the LOI and Application forms if there are any comments? Or some other method of quickly listing the comments? I think this would make things much easier for our applicants.
Thanks a lot,
Owen David

There is a suggestion elsewhere that a flag could be added to organizations etc. I would love to see the comment summary available via a flag on the follow-up (mouse over to expand, or click for box of comments).

This (comments all in one place) would also be helpful when reviewing a follow-up form. We make notes in the Administrator Comments fields about why a particular follow-up form has not yet been marked complete, and it would be really helpful to have all of those notes accessible in one place, so we could make sure not to miss a correction before marking it complete. Otherwise, we end up having to re-read the entire follow-up form over and over again, and there is a nagging sense of worry about missing something.

I second that - I am constantly impressed by how quickly you guys roll out new features. There have been many changes since I started working with GLM just over a year ago that have helped us out. It's always getting better and better. My MO is just to post ideas as they come to me through our team and our grantees, but I do so with the understanding that you have a lot on your plates and won't get to most of them! Thanks for all your hard work!

Sounds great! :) Love the speedy changes you are already making and always appreciate the detailed info about level of priority. It's so easy to suggest things, not so easy to change software. We appreciate you!

Hi Owen and Mary,
Thanks for adding this suggestion. We definitely try our best as we add new features, but you folks are definitely on the front lines in terms of hearing what applicants like about the system and what they struggle with.
I'm not certain what we'll be able to do. We're currently in the middle of some pretty significant changes to our report field functionality. However, I'm trying to queue up development items that we can have work on in parallel. I'll take this idea to our product team and see if we can come up with a good solution.
Thanks again - both of you have provided a lot of input that is really well thought out. I wish we could make things happen faster, but I want to assure you we're doing our best, and your ideas are making a difference. We have to weigh a lot of things each release - strategic changes, risk, current functionality, other clients' needs, etc. - and it's never simple. That said, I hope you both have seen positive changes in the product. We look forward to continuing to improve GLM.

Interesting. I've hesitated to use the comment feature much since I strongly suspect our grantees won't see it. Some other ways to highlight the comments include a comment icon beside the request on the grantee's dashboard and a table of contents at the top of the application linking to each comment.
