drag and drop documents
It would be great if there was the ability to drag and drop documents into folders in shared documents.

I know this is a lot of work to implement, but it would be well worth the effort if organizations are really going to use this feature to store and share documents.

I had been thinking dragging and dropping from, say, my desktop into the request documents section, so that I can upload a 990 without all those steps.

Hi Chris,
I mean drag and drop from one place to another within the shared documents folder. Like Sara mentions, currently you have to delete and re-upload to reorganize the content within this area. It would be much easier and less time consuming to drag and drop within these folders, rather than going through the process of deleting and re-uploading.

Chiming in here - it would be great to be able to "drag and drop" in such a way that you can reorganize content in the folders without having to delete and re-upload files, which is what you have to do now.

For clarification, do you mean "drag from your desktop into a shared document folder" ... or "drag from one place in shared documents to another folder"?

I agree. I appreciate having the ability to share documents and to keep them organized in folders (thank you!!), but I think having a drag and drop feature implemented would be very helpful and make it more user-friendly for administrators. Any chance you could revisit this idea?

Hi Becky and Mary,
Thanks for the suggestion, and I can see how it would be a nice feature. However, it's actually pretty complex to implement, so for now, we're not planning on working on it. That may change as we continue to make changes to the system.
