Saving manually entered grants
While we do have the option for applicants to save a grant in progress as a draft, I have not been able to do this when entering grants manually. There have been a few instances where I've been called away from my computer for an extended time, lost internet, closed the page accidentally etc. while entering a manual grant and all the information entered gets lost. Is there a way to save work in progress?

When doing manual grant entry, an administrator can now mark a form as "Draft" and return to it later.
This is complete and has been released in 4.1.0 on February 4, 2014.
Thanks again for the suggestions and feedback,

Hi Amy,
Wanted to let you know that there is the ability to build an email template that automatically is sent to applicants/grantees when their forms are submitted. All form submittals (LOI's, Applications, Follow-Up Forms) will result in the same email being sent to the submitter so it needs to be pretty generic but at least is confirms that everything went OK from a technical standpoint. Build an email template as always and just assign the template to the Submission Verification event notification.

I am with you on having a save option for maunal grant entry as well as an option to have an email sent to the grantee when their grant has been submitted.

I am manually entering some grants that were approved last year and discovered this problem. I have found it easier to log on as the user and enter that way so I can save and return to my work, It would be nice to be able to save as draft as the admin though.

I echo the desire to have the ability in manual grant entry to "save as draft"!

Thanks Raymond. That will help somewhat. Though the situation we're hearing about is that the applicant is unsure of whether it saved so they are hesitant to continue to the next step. Changing the look of the screen itself would give immediate feedback to the user.

Great suggestion Kendra. One thing we're likely going to do is e-mail applicants when they have succesfully submitted an application. There may well be some things we can do on the application side as well. Perhaps a message with a date and time submitted page (perhaps even printable, like a receipt). Thank you!

Speaking of saving grants... Once a grant has been entered, whether it's by the applicant or by the administrator, it would be helpful to have a bolder or more obvious transformation take place to indicate that the app has been saved. On occasion, folks have questioned whether it actually saved or not.

This is an entirely reasonble request and a great idea. While we're on the subject, do you have any other thoughts on improving the manual grant entry process? Thank you Alison!
