Fund at the LOI stage and Application stage
To decrease the burden on nonprofits, it would be great if we could add payments at both the LOI complete and Application complete stages. Then we can divert the NPOs who we don't need more information from straight to checks being cut and continue with those orgs we need more information from in the Application stage.

Katie and Meredith,
Just to make sure we understand correctly, you would like to see a complete bucket much like the one we have for application stage for the LOI stage as well? Thank you!

I second Katie's comment -- this is exactly my situation -- I need another "level" or "bucket" between submitted and approved/declined, so that I can see the LOI has been viewed and deemed complete, but is still pending some action or input from the Foundation before it gets approved or declined.
I'd also like to put in a vote to change what is now termed "LOI complete" back to to "LOI approved," which describes that result better -- when I mark an LOI "complete" now, it moves the applicant to the full applciation process. (So this means LOI approved).
Thanks Grant, Raymond, Mark, Daren, Amy, Betty et al for listening to all of our ideas :)

I would find it helpful if I could mark LOIs as complete without having to approve LOIs - sometimes we have a lag between when LOIs are submitted and when there is a decision to invite a full proposal, and it would be great to be able to mark the LOI complete but not have to make a decision on it - mainly this would be helpful so I could attach supporting documents to the LOI in the time between LOI submission and a decision.

All very good input!! The work flow gets a bit tricky when we have an application in the process.
Example: How do we fill in the questions on the application when you approve the LOI and how does that reflect on reports? Do we fill anything in or just leave everything blank trying to bypass the required elements with code and reports will show nothing on the application questions? Many things to think about on this one.
Any thoughts or input on these comments? Keep in mind I'm not a developer so it may be easier or harder than we think.

My board will often approve a grant just from an LOI. This could also be helpful for the entry of discretionary grants.

This would be helpful not only for the live site but also for the demo site. I spent a lot of time working a dummy application through the demo when I just wanted to approve the grant at the LOI stage.

This only applies to foundation using a Letter of Inquiry (LOI).
Currently in Foundant, to Approve a grantee's request they must fill out both an LOI and an Application (if the foundation uses an LOI). For some of our clients, the LOI's information is adequate enough to approve the request without asking for a full application. It has been requested that we allow LOI's to be approved without requiring the applicant submit an application. Rate this idea and let us know what you think by commenting.
