message donors through donor portal
It would be great if a "notes" tab or "messaging" tab was available on the Fund Advisor Portal so we could communicate with the advisor(s) when they log in to their fund. We have an agency endowed fund that requires the agency to request distributions and if they don't request it, the funds can accumulate year to year. This year when creating a distribution, the total accumulated amount would put the fund under water. Fund Advisor Portal distribution history should indicate whether the grant was anonymous or not
Include whether the grant was made anonymously or not in the distribution history that is seen by the fund advisor on the fund advisor portal. thanks!

Report to calculate future/expected spendable balance
It would be helpful to be able to see the expected future spendable balance taking, for example, recurring grants into account. Today it requires multiple reports to get a projected expected spendable for a future date.
Example:
If a recurring grant is planned for 12/31, be able to see a report that says, "even though spendable today is $X, it's about to be $X minus the planned recurring grant amount."7 votes -

Customize Donor Portal
We would like the option to make modifications to the Donor Portal so during our Giving to Lincoln month, donors who are making grants to participating nonprofits from their donor advised fund can log in and select from the Grantees they've given to in the past, they can then select a check box that this is for Give to Lincoln Day. We could then add the NPOs that are participating in CSuite and this NPOs would pull over to the portal as participating NPOs for our giving day.

Donor Portal Grant to Operations in Rec
It would be great if there were a box we can add to each Grant Recommendation from Donor Portal for our Fund Advisors to add a grant amount to support our own operations. Back in the day when we had paper forms, this generated a significant level of support to us.

Split Interest Functionality
Current functionality only works if the CRT has one gift. If the CRT receives a second gift in the same fund, the functionality will not work. Based on IRS Form 5227, Part VI, Q11 - it is not out of the ordinary for a CRT to receive additional contributions beyond the establishing year. Can we figure out a way for this functionality to accept more than one gift?

Bulk Edit - Payment schedule date and grant date
We would really love to have a bulk edit option for the payment schedule date and bulk edit date. To offer some context from an accounting perspective, the concern is that the grant date and edit payment schedule dates are different especially when grants are entered or submitted on a certain date but are needing to be paid on a schedule, typically a Friday for us. The grant date is what drives the date the expense is posted to the GL. We have had to manually update the payment schedule date and the grant date for each grant since there…

When running Donation and grant reports - would be nice to have the option to run these by both Fiscal and Calendar year, since statements are often ran on a Calendar Year

Post deletions in current period - not original period
It is frustrating that the system always wants to go back to the original period to delete/unpost something. For example, we had a campaign that sold tickets. Most were bought in prior periods. We now need to refund several tickets (due to the event date having to be changed) and the refund process requires deleting the invoice which the system wants us to re-open the period for. It should just make the entry to delete the invoice in the CURRENT period. This is common accounting practice. Having to go back and reopen periods is nonsense.

Admin Fee Edit
It would be very helpful to be able to edit the calculated admin fees prior to posting. Similar to how distributions/spending calculations can be edited prior to posting.

Report field to indicate if a grant is a multi-fund grant
It would be great to have a field within custom reports that indicates if a grant is a multi-fund grant or not. Currently there is no way to show this and multi-fund grants appear as individual grants based on the fund rather than one grant that is paid separately. This makes reporting on multi-fund grants a very manual process.

Fund Statements need to add up
Fund statements currently do not have to add up. They only include g/l accounts that you have selected to include in the templates. We had a transfer that didn't go through the P&L and therefore the fund statement didn't add up and we didn't get an error message. It's not possible to recalculate every single fund statement so there really needs to be an error message if the statement doesn't total up correctly.

Grant letter sent to pay address
Have grant letters be sent to the pay email marked on a profile, instead of it going to the primary email.

Fund Advicors need to be able to all doantions and grants to all their funds at once.
We have several agency fund advisors that advise 10+ funds. They have expressed a need to be able to see all all donations and grants to their funds at once, rather than having to click through them one by one.

Recurring Grant Option in Donor Portal
Currently in the Donor Portal, there is the option to make a 'recurring grant' in the Grant Request tab. Some Foundations may offer this option, but our Foundation currently does not for a variety of reasons. It looks like the 'recurring grant' checkbox is built into the CSuite software and can't be hidden or removed. However, it's confusing for our portal users because the box is in the portal even though we try our best to explain that we don't support that option and they shouldn't check the box to make a recurring grant. Portal Styling Support with Classes
To ease styling for new features like the recent change that allows Fund Advisors to change their profile contact information and to enable two-factor authentication, it would be helpful to have an identifying class of some sort within the code, or at the very least, a class added to the body or ftcontentcontainer div that tells us what page we're on (so that we can style things within that div differently than on other pages).

Sequential Grant Numbers
In an effort to more easily find and track grants, it would be helpful for them to be sequential. Even better, it would be great if users could determine the grant numbers. For example, in FIMS we would restart our numbers every year at the beginning of the fiscal year (i.e. 20230001). This way, whenever I see a grant, I immediately know which fiscal year it was awarded. And if I made a mistake on a grant, I could go back in and start the numbering over from where the mistake was made.

checks - batch print grant letters in check run screen
The one thing that would be super helpful to us is having the capability to batch print grant letters in the check run screen. I know this would be a technical change to the system, but I really don’t see why this can’t be possible.
For the foundations who have the separation of duties, the check printers can just print and confirm/post the checks. The grant people can print the grant letters from the grants section. This would be a win/win for everyone. The check batch screen already has the ability to print envelopes and labels. Why not the letters…
