  1. We have several organizations whose legal name is different than the name they are known as (i.e doing business as). It would be nice to search by sort name and organization name simultaneously in case a person does not know the legal name or has forgotten it.

  2. This ties into the universal application and applicant experience!

    In SLM I would love the ability to delay auto emails by x number of days. We are processing scholarship recipients through SLM right now as our standing committee has just come to a close. However, what we have found clunky is that we use applicant ID's for blind review to align with our DEI initiative, and in turn, need a smooth way to turn those back into names.

  3. In the reporting section: On the tabling questions, since each field reports as its own data point, can we get a button in the table headers to select the full column or row of data so we don't have to select each field individually?

  4. It would be nice to have more reporting functionality re: users and their contact information (to be able to pull committee lists of some sort) and what process they are assigned to. This would give better visibility for staff that are Grant Manager users (don't have administrator rights) to have better visibility of who is on their process as a reviewer.

  6. When reviewing applications within GLM and asking questions, it would be helpful to be able to highlight text. Currently Rich Text Editor is available only to Admins. We'd like to see this available to ALL users.

  7. We are using internal follow up assignments very frequently for staff to complete verbal reports with grant partners. When the report form is complete, they have to click "Submit Follow Up" then go back to their dashboard to access the submitted report, open it and mark it complete. If it's the final report assigned then they also close the grant. To help streamline better, it would be really helpful to have another button offered for internal follow up forms for "Submit Follow Up and Mark Report Complete". If doing that would make the same button appear on the external follow…

  8. Administrators and applicants are able to view the "character count" for applicants' text area questions. It shows below in green.

    We would like the option for evaluators, in their side-by-side evaluation form, to see the character count underneath the question, as it is displayed for administrators and applicants.

    We don't necessarily want to encourage our evaluators to only consider character count, as we say the quality of answers matter more than the number of words/length of response, but it may help evaluators when they are in between two scores.

  9. Create a question type for numbers where commas are automatically added. I know this has been proposed before here, but it is very difficult for evaluators to read numbers past 999 without commas.

  10. When Foundant implemented enhanced formatting (e.g., bold font, bullets) last year, the downside was that print packets became harder to read. Before the enhanced formatting change, the first line of paragraphs was automatically indented and there was a space between paragraphs. Now even if you copy and paste paragraphs from a word-processing program with the first line indented, the print packet doesn't indent that line and there's no space between paragraphs. That leaves multi-paragraph answers as one big blob of text.

  11. As grantmakers we are encouraged to provide generous character limits for applicants while trying to encourage clear and concise writing. I think it would be helpful in establishing character limits if Foundant could allow us to generate a report showing actual character counts for each question in a form vs. the character limit. Then we could easily know if applicants are bumping up on these limits. Together with our qualitative assessment as to the quality of answers, this quantitative data could guide more informed setting of character limits.

  12. In addition to not assigning due dates that fall on a weekend, I also like to ensure they aren't falling a holiday, or other date that the Foundation's offices are closed. Right now I have to refer to an external calendar when assigning forms to ensure that the due dates I assign follow the rules. I'd like to be able to input dates (likely in the GLM site settings) that would be highlighted (i.e. font color = red) in the calendar pop-up, so I will have a visual indicator to not select those dates when assigning due dates.

  14. Is there any way to have a summery of all the processes open at the top when they go to the apply page instead of scrolling down to look at them all? That would be very helpful. Especially if you have grants for specific areas.

  15. It would be great for Foundant to disclose to users that more recent returns may be available at GuideStar or elsewhere. The IRS has a large digitizing backload, so as it stands right now, Foundant users could reasonably but erroneously conclude that more recent returns are not publicly available.

  17. I noticed that when selecting custom columns available application, follow-up, etc. form shows up when selecting them, even if you only have one process selected. It would be more useful to only display the application, follow-ups, etc. that are associated with that particular process when selecting fields for custom columns.

  19. We mail checks for smaller grant payments, and occasionally those checks are lost. We typically cancel the lost checks with our bank and then reissue a new check donation. How are others tracking canceled checks in the GLM? I'm seeing where you can cancel an installment, but that is only available if the installment hasn't yet been paid. Since we issued the check already, we marked it as paid, removing that option. How are others dealing with logging lost checks/reissues in the GLM?

  20. Although it tells the applicant that it is a preview only when you switch cells, however, we still had an applicant not realize she was in preview mode for some reason. Would it be possible to somehow lock those answer blocks so that they couldn't be typed in? And/or a big red warning at the top of the form?
