Increase Character Limits for Instruction Questions
The instruction character count is 1000. I think that this should be increased to at least 2000. This is an ideal area to include instructions to the applicant and reviewer and sometimes those instructions are detailed. Limiting the count to 1000 forces the creation of two instruction fields or reducing the number of characters and thus, changing the risking the understanding of the instructions.
Thank you for your feedback. Would anyone be willing to share an instruction that you have that is over the 1,000 character limit. This will help as we take the request to our engineering team so that we can have a real world example.
We have one.

Happy to share and example!

Thanks for making this suggestion. I think it would be beneficial to our foundation to have an increased character limit (10K) for Instruction Questions.

I totally agree with the instruction character limits.

My vote would be to increase the character limit of instruction text field to 10,000 characters, since that it is the max limit for text fields. We are using follow-up forms for our grant agreements and it can be awkward trying to fit some of the grant clauses in 1,000 characters and increasing it to 10,000 would enable use to use lists for some, making it look neater overall.
I currently use subsequent instruction blocks, but it sometimes introduces a larger space between the sentences than I would like (it is inconsistent - and yes, I check for carriage returns after the text). Not the end of the world, but it would help make things look more seamless.
