Show completed tasks in Profiles
Similar to this idea that has been implemented (http://idealab.foundant.com/forums/597718-communitysuite-idea-lab?query=completed%20tasks) it would be VERY helpful to see completed tasks associated with a profile.
Regular communication with donors does not always fall into an opportunity so having a record of communication in the profile is very important. I need to be able to look at a donor profile and see that she has received 2 phone calls and a fund report this year.
I should also be able to see all activity for that profile in one place, whether it's a note, a task or a transaction.…

tasks in opportunities
Keep completed tasks in the opportunity they are tied to but just marked as 'complete'. It would be SO helpful to see a running list of all contact made with a donor in relation to the opportunity in a wholistic way without having to export completed tasks.

Completed tasks should have a notification ot historical log for the person who assigned the taks
The person who assigns a task does not receive notification, nor can they view completed tasks that they have assigned to others. Even the "shared with others" does not include completed tasks. It would be wonderful to have the option to email the person who assigned the task when the task is completed, especially since there is a Note that can be attached to the task. It would be a great way to leave a note and notification for the task assigner.

Should be able to edit a completed task.
16 votes9/11/2023: Tasks/Opportunity Tasks: Added the ability to edit completed tasks. Users will now see Edit as an option in the left hand menu on a Completed Task. No Update to Permissions.

Bulk complete tasks
From the task list, you should be able to mark all or multiple tasks complete, similar to how you can do so with the "Approve All" feature in the grants bucket.

tasks
Create options besides "done" for retiring tasks.
When a task is abandoned for legit reasons, it would be great to be able to mark it as such. Also, When a task was added by someone who is no longer a user and it does not make sense to reassign the task to someone else, it would be great to be able to delete it. Only having "done" as a method for retiring tasks from active status leaves a misleading record of what activity occured.

It would be awesome to be able to copy tasks! I have tasks that are similar, but are not recurring. Copying would save a lot of time.

Custom Task Report should show ALL tasks, not just tasks entered within an Opportunity
Custom task reports should show ALL tasks, not just the tasks that have been entered from within an Opportunity. Currently, custom task report only shows tasks entered from within an opportunity.

Link Tasks to the Stages in Opportunities
It would be great to be able to link tasks to the stages of an opportunity. Opportunities with tasks has the possibility to create a wonderful roadmap; however, not all stages take the same amount of time to be accomplished. When fostering relationships or solicitating money, these opportunities are dependent on each individual experience, independent of each other. While one relationship may take days, another may take months or even years. export task notes
We have a custom Task report we use for activity around Opportunities. It works well EXCEPT there is no field for task notes. (If you are in the process of adding one - and I hope you are - the following idea is moot).
It would be helpful to be able to export from the Tasks field. Specifically, completed tasks, in order to get the notes in a spreadsheet that we can merge with our activity reports.
I'm not sure if there is a notes field in All My Tasks, but it would be helpful to have one…13 votes -
Ability to Delete a Task
PLEASE - build in the ability to build a task. We have recently had several deceased individuals with tasks and opportunities assigned. We need to be able to delete them, rather than marking them as done. This is so important due to the fact that we are tracking our tasks completed for board reporting and so simply cannot mark something as done that was not, and no longer needs to be done.

Bulk Reassign Tasks
It would be helpful to have the ability to bulk reassign tasks in cases when there is staff turn-over.
For example there is a Donor Steward who leaves the organization. They have a number of relationship management tasks in cSuite to have a cadence of communication with their assigned donors.
it would save time to be able to bulk-reassign tasks to the new Donor Development rep(s) who will take over relationship management with those donors.

Tasks viewable to everyone who opens a profile
Thank you for adding Tasks to individual Profiles! Can you please make ALL TASKS visible on a profile regardless of who created or the assigned person? It's helpful to see all past due/current/future tasks on a profile regardless of who they are assigned to.

Custom Field in Tasks
We would like to be able to add custom fields in Tasks. One data point we have tracked in Salesforce is whether an activity/task is a "quality contact". For example forwarding an event invitation might be a task, but forwarding a news story and including a special message that encourages someone to consider making a grant might be a "quality contact" task. We use "quality contacts" to measure our client relations team success. If we could add a check box to Tasks for "quality contacts" that would be great.

Tasks
When you add a regular task to a profile or fund, you have the option to share with others. When you add an opp task, you do not have that option and instead you must create the task, edit the task and then share with others. It would save SO much time if this feature could be added to opportunity tasks.

Making Tasks Viewable to All
It would be really nice if tasks could be tied to profiles, funds, grants, etc. and if they could show up like notes do (or at least having that option for them to show up). We are used to the "contacts" tab in FIMS which both informed the team of communications between donors and staff as well as provided an option to follow up if necessary. Thanks

Tasks - custom report fields
In creating a custom report for tasks, we can pull a Profile ID but NOT Profile Name. We are not sure why we cannot pull the Profile Name. Can this please be added.

View all tasks for a profile
It would be nice if all current AND future tasks assigned to a specific profile were displayed in the profile view.
