Emulate user without resetting everything else
Whenever I emulate a user, all of my tabs within SmartSimple disappear and I'm reset back to my default home page. I need to be able to flip quickly between emulating and making changes, and not need to open multiple new tabs and navigate back to where I was.

Bring back the Key for Enable/Disable Login Access
In the new UX design (implemented with the October 2025 upgrade), we lost visibility to the key icon on the Contact Profile showing whether a contact has access or not. Instead, we now have to click Actions and either see "Enable Login Access" or "Disable Login Access" as the only indicator of whether the person has login access or not.
Please bring the key icon back — we relied on it for quick, easy, reliable confirmation of the contact's login capabilities.

Drag and drop application builder
The current method to change the order of the questions in application is to go into the field configuration and change the display order. This can be a time consuming process and a bit of a guessing game. It would be so helpful to have a configuration mode allow admins to drag and drop fields directly in the records to reorder them.

It is possible to do it in the list, but not yet on the form. We will monitor interest to determine if the priority rises for future consideration.

Advanced Data Table - Column Width Control
The columns on advanced data tables, and other sections of SmartSimple, are limited to Small Medium Large XLarge (or equivalent). This isn't great, and they also regularly don't work because the text fields become the adjustable ones anyway. It would be better to be percentages and all fields in a column/row to follow on from their header. The boxes could then still be adjustable, but start at the relevant size. The aesthetic is quite poor currently.

Notifications for users with locked accounts
It would be beneficial to implement a notification system for users who have attempted to log in too many times, informing them that their account is locked for a certain number of minutes. Currently, there is no way to inform them.
Perhaps a 'pop-up' message on the login page would be the most effective solution.

We will monitor this idea, the solution may be an email to the user to let them know they are locked and try after X minutes. Today, we have a setting (policy->account lockout) to define who received a locked out notification, typically to the admin.

Add inline editing ability to list views
Users often need to make quick, minor updates to individual record fields where batch updates are not practical. The current Quick Edit functionality does not fully meet this need, as it involves multiple clicks and modal windows, creating unnecessary friction.
Introducing inline editing within the list view would allow users to modify fields directly, without navigating away or opening additional screens. This streamlined approach would significantly reduce effort and improve efficiency for small, targeted changes and is a feature currently offered in other software suites

Improved SmartSimple–Word Integration for Collaboration and Version Control
Contracts and collaborative documents across the grant and partnership lifecycle are currently managed primarily through Word documents shared via email. This creates challenges with version control, including multiple document versions, parallel edits, and manual consolidation of changes. Collaboration is fragmented, resulting in limited visibility into document updates, no single source of truth, and limited auditability of changes and negotiations. In addition, the process creates administrative pressure on a small legal function, and contracts are largely managed outside the SmartSimple platform, leading to duplicated documentation and limited traceability.
To address this, improved collaboration functionality is needed. The solution should allow documents…

Global Search Functionality
Implement a global search feature that enables users to search by grant name, user name, or organization name. When a user is searched, the results should include:
A direct link to the user’s profile
Links to all organizations the user is affiliated with
A list of all grants associated with the user
This enhancement would streamline navigation and improve access to relevant information across the platform.
This search may be surfaced in the header and should take advantage of the OpenSearch work being done to ensure the fastest performance.

How about adding viewing and downloading capabilities to the document upload field in the Interaction L2 form?
Is there a reason you included a document upload field in the "Interaction" L2 form that appears in our Activities list of the L1 application forms, but didn't include any way to view or download documents uploaded there?
Enquiring minds want to know.

Shift Click to Select Multiple Items in a List View
The ability to select multiple item in a list view by clicking the first item and shift clicking the last item to select a range of records instead of individually clicking each one would be very helpful.

Rich Text Editor - Resizable Window
With the Smart Simple October 2025 Update to the Rich Text Editor, the window is no longer resizable.
The specific field type for the Rich Text Editor is: Special - Rich Text. It would be ideal if the window has the ability to be resized both vertically and horizontally.
An example of text windows that are fully adjustable are those with the "Text Box - Text Multiple Lines" field type, and the Width is set to "Full" under the display options (Width), allows for both horizontal and vertical adjustment

Change the default error message for SSO
Request: Can the SSO default authentication error message be updated, perhaps by client instance? Is there any way for users not to hit a dead end but be nudged towards the correct behaviour?
Context: Logging in on the SSO “happy path” works well (users follow directions and know if they already have registered with SmartSimple or not). These users do things in the right order: Users click the Create an account button if they have not previously registered in SmartSimple, or they click the Log in button if they have.
The “unhappy path” does not work, where users think they…

Bottom scroll bar
On the L2 view within the L1, there are two scroll bars on the right and then a bottom scroll bar below all the L2s. if there are many L2s on the list, one would have to scroll all the way down to move the scroll bar to the right. It would be nice to have the bottom scroll bar be static on the page.

Hide columns in the global user lookup list view
Add the ability to hide specific columns in the global user lookup list view settings. This would allow admins to include fields (e.g., a unique ID) in the lookup view so users can search by them, without displaying those fields in the list view.
- Go to Global Settings
- Users > Lookup List Views
- Edit the default user lookup list view
- Select a column and add a toggle button to “Hide Column” here (similar to List views)

Thanks for the clarification, this is a valid use case. Today, the lookup list view for users is global (i.e. configurable, but will be the same view for all users). One option would be to offer more flexibility to support more dynamic list views with conditions to support this use case. This would be an enhancement. We will monitor interest to revisit this priority.

Allow configuration of session timeout warning
The system will automatically timeout sessions for users at the interval specified on the Security page, or sometimes earlier if there is an error. There is an automatic timeout notification that pops up immediately before the session times out, but it would improve user experience and accessibility to be able to configure a notification with more time before the timeout, so that the user could have a chance to save their work. It would also be nice to be able to customize the notification message.

Allowing address field's caption customized when 'Enable Multiple Address' is enabled
Currently: When 'Enable Multiple Address' is enabled (on org or user profile), the Address field's caption remains locked to "Primary Address"; updating the standard field caption for Address or Address Type doesn't change it.
Use Case: Client might set a different default address type, such as "Mailing Address" (which they can configure in Address Types), and they want the caption to display as Mailing Address.
Request: To allow the address field caption to be customized when using the Multiple Address feature.
