1. Profiles - May Release Feedback

   For the new look on Profile, the Details tab should be the first tab (not the 3rd tab) and the default tab open/highlighted. Then Relationships, Engagement, Files and Notes.

   Designations: Those that are enabled, should all display at the top (currently the list is static, so there could be some designations that do not apply and then some that do apply). Confusing to look at.

   Custom Fields: Should align directly under the Details box or the Phones box. Right now there is a bunch of space between Details and Custom fields (when you have address, emails and a bunch of phone numbers). see screenshot

2. New changes to profiles - see household members

   In the new changes to sandbox for profiles. Wish that when you are looking at a household - you can see the list of household members closer to the top of the screen. You have to do a lot of scrolling if that profile has profile types on it in order to see if there are household members. Having to do that scrolling is taking A LOT of time. It would be much more helpful to have the household members in the box at the top with the household. That way you can click on the link for the individual profile.

3. Create an address type

   It would be awesome if we could create our own address type. I understand there are several on the dropdown for business, home, etc. But it would be nice to create a separate address type if possible. We ACH our designated grants June 1st every year... but before sending them out we like to address them a letter/email to notify them of the ACH and see if they need to update their ACH information. I would like to be able to put an "ACH Address" on the profile when the address is different for the ACH vs. where we would normally send statements and/or grants. I also would need to be able to pull this address type from the Fund/Fund Beneficiary custom report.
   If there is a way to do this and I'm not seeing it- please let me know.

   There is a current option to set your own address types.  In Profiles, select Profile Types from the left side menu.  You should then see an option to Add Address Type.  That allows you to add a new address type.  If you have further questions, please reach out to support.

5. Exclude prefix from profile search

   I want to be able to search by "Smith, Joe" without having to type in "Smith, Mr. Joe". The profile search used to let me put in "Smith, Joe" but since the latest update it no longer does, and when you are trying to link a profile or search for profile from donation page it doesn't ignore prefix there either. I don't always know whether the person is a Ms. Miss, Mrs. etc, so it consumes time looking through the list for the correct profile.

   5/3/2023: Profiles have a new a look with this enhancement.  Foundant is excited to take so many of the User submitted ideas from idea lab and make them happen in the software.  Our highest voted idea lab submission was the ability to identify the main profile data regardless of the designation.

   The profile summary includes the information needed when working with constituents. The primary profile data will now be static at the top of the page regardless of the designation page that is being viewed.  This summary includes an image, primary contact information, last donation date and pronouns.  With this new layout there will be an icon next to the profiles name at the header.  This will allow a User to easily identify an individual, household, or organization record.   Images have also been added to the top header box for easy reference as well. For easier navigation, the profile name and designation will appear in the browser tab at the top of the page.

   Below this header box, profile data has been organized in tabs:  Details, Relationships, Engagements, Files, Notes.  The left side menu will change depending on the tab a user has selected. The Details tab will house the rest of the profile information such as addresses, emails, birthday, salutations, task and custom fields. The Relationships tab includes: Opportunities, Household Members, Profile Funds, Types, Profile Links and Philanthropic Interest Area. Engagement tab includes:  Active Campaigns and Similar Profiles. Just a quick call out, there is a new left-side menu to a new report List All Campaigns which will return a report of active and inactive campaigns. Files and Notes tabs will be the last two tabs and will retain any files or notes for the profile.

   For easy navigation, Designations have been moved to the top of the page as well. Clients can easily use the “make” action item to add a designation to a profile.  Designations will become bold as you navigate to one.  The Designation pages will also follow the new tab system to allow for the profile header to stay on each page.  The option to Make Affiliate/Supporting Org remains in the left menu of the main profile page for organizations.

   Enhancements to the deceased and inactive checkboxes. The deceased and inactive checkboxes will now have functionality. When marking a profile deceased, it will also make the profile inactive, mark the address, emails, phone as inactive, and the designations: vendor, student, and grantee. This will also not allow the profile to be used when selling tickets, recording donations, creating vouchers/grants.  Print Envelope option from the profile will no longer be an option on the left-side menu once a profile is inactive. The deceased and inactive field is an option available to be set in names bulk update. The deceased and inactive checkbox will also add the inactive and/or deceased label in red at the top of the profile header box.

   Best Practice for receiving donations for a deceased profile would be to create an estate profile to received the donations and then link the new estate profile to the deceased profile.

   The ability to assign pronouns to a profile is now available.  If populated, the pronouns now populate in the header, directly after the profile name at the top of the summary box.  Up to three words can be included in the profile field.  This will be a preset list of pronouns: e|ey|em|eir|eirs|eirself| he|him|his|himself| per|pers|perself| she|her|hers|herself| they|them|their|theirs|themself| ve|ver|vis|verself| xe|xem|xyr|xyrs|xemself| ze|zie|hir|hirs|hirself.  A pronoun cannot contain a numeric or special characters, no spaces, and they will be displayed in ( ) separated by /. For example: (a/b/c). Updating pronouns will also be available from the Bulk Update and then using Names.  You will be able to add the pronouns using a comma to separate more than one pronoun on the .csv.  For example, you will enter she, her, hers for these three pronouns to display on a profile.

   When creating a profile you will now select to create an individual, household, or organization.  Then once you select the type of profile to create all fields will be available on the creation of a profile.  Just a reminder, foundation workflows may need to be updated with new creation of profiles.

   Permissions: No Permission updates with this release.

   Does anyone know why anytime you put in a new profile that it wants to sync it with GLM profiles. This sets up for more error on my end, since I don't have anything to do with GLM and takes more time with more steps. Am I the only one that feels this way, or is there a way to shut off this feature?

   Profiles: Resolved an issue with GLM search being required on every profile creation.

7. bulk inactivate profiles

   It would be great if we could make profiles inactive from a report or list of profiles. We sent out a file to identify deceased persons. It's been a minute since that has been done and we received back more than 1200 as deceased. It's going to take quite a bit of time to manually touch every one of those profiles to mark them as, at the minimum, inactive. If inactivate was an option for bulk updates, that would be wonderful. It would need to be protected somehow so just everyone didn't have the ability to make mass profiles inactive.

8. Add Stripe customer link as field in merge profile page

   When you are merging two profiles because of a duplicate it would be great if the StripeID customer link field was populated on that page so you know which profile the stripe payment is attached to so that information is not lost.

   In addition to attaching files, it would be nice if we could attach a profile picture. This would be helpful for board members, committee members, fund advisors, etc.

   There is currently an add image option in the left side menu when viewing a profile.  This will allow you to upload a picture.

10. Inactive addresses should not populate as option for print envelope feature

    When utilizing the "print envelope" feature within a person or organization's profile, all of the listed addresses populate to select from...even the inactive ones. To be sure, one must use the back button to confirm the primary. Please list the primary address as the top option and PLEASE do not list inactive addresses. This could save time and avoid many slip ups when mailing via USPS (sharing for a friend...) Thanks :)

11. Pronoun

    Pronoun Field

    We need a place to capture pronouns on profiles. This must be an editable field - not a drop down menu, as pronoun preferences and combinations may not match what we would anticipate in advance. I consider this request of critical importance.

    It is a sign of respect and care to use a person's proper pronouns - we know from scientific research that mis-gendering people by using incorrect pronouns can have a serious impact on their mental health.

    I searched Idea Lab for this topic before creating this suggestion and was disappointed to see that another user's suggestion is marked as NOT PLANNED status. Please revisit this decision.

When marking a profile deceased, it will also make the profile inactive, mark the address, emails, phone as inactive, and the designations: vendor, student, and grantee. This will also not allow the profile to be used when selling tickets, recording donations, creating vouchers/grants.  Print Envelope option from the profile will no longer be an option on the left-side menu once a profile is inactive. The deceased and inactive field is an option available to be set in names bulk update. The deceased and inactive checkbox will also add the inactive and/or deceased label in red at the top of the profile header box.

    Best Practice for receiving donations for a deceased profile would be to create an estate profile to received the donations and then link the new estate profile to the deceased profile.

    The ability to assign pronouns to a profile is now available.  If populated, the pronouns now populate in the header, directly after the profile name at the top of the summary box.  Up to three words can be included in the profile field.  This will be a preset list of pronouns: e|ey|em|eir|eirs|eirself| he|him|his|himself| per|pers|perself| she|her|hers|herself| they|them|their|theirs|themself| ve|ver|vis|verself| xe|xem|xyr|xyrs|xemself| ze|zie|hir|hirs|hirself.  A pronoun cannot contain a numeric or special characters, no spaces, and they will be displayed in ( ) separated by /. For example: (a/b/c). Updating pronouns will also be available from the Bulk Update and then using Names.  You will be able to add the pronouns using a comma to separate more than one pronoun on the .csv.  For example, you will enter she, her, hers for these three pronouns to display on a profile.

    When creating a profile you will now select to create an individual, household, or organization.  Then once you select the type of profile to create all fields will be available on the creation of a profile.  Just a reminder, foundation workflows may need to be updated with new creation of profiles.

    5/3/2023: Profiles have a new a look with this enhancement.  Foundant is excited to take so many of the User submitted ideas from idea lab and make them happen in the software.  Our highest voted idea lab submission was the ability to identify the main profile data regardless of the designation.

    The profile summary includes the information needed when working with constituents. The primary profile data will now be static at the top of the page regardless of the designation page that is being viewed.  This summary includes an image, primary contact information, last donation date and pronouns.  With this new layout there will be an icon next to the profiles name at the header.  This will allow a User to easily identify an individual, household, or organization record.   Images have also been added to the top header box for easy reference as well.     We have organizations that change their names and would like the ability to merge the organization with the former name into the newly named organization.

    There is an option on the left side menu of a profile to merge the profile.  You will then be given the option to enter the other named profile.  If you need assistance, please contact support.

13. last grant date on profile

    It would be wildly helpful if the last grant date was an option for reports on grantees. In other words, you could pull a profile report that would also tell you the last date that the profile received a grant.

14. email type

    Can we please add an option to select email type (home, business, personal, custom) in order to neatly organize a contact's various emails? This is extremely important to be able to communicate per a client's preferences. Many CRM's also allow a "custom type" where you can modify the type name. Thank you!

    Email is type is a customizable field.  Select Profile Types from the left side menu in Profiles.  A current email type can be edited by clicking into the ID.  You also have the ability to Add Email Types on the left side menu.  

15. Org Roles Sorted with Active On Top

    We are not clear how the sort order is established for Org Roles / Profile Links. We would like to see Org Roles sorted with "Active" Org Roles followed by Inactive.

    For example, we add links to our current and former board members. We would like to see our current ("active") board members at the top.

17. Making someone deceased should automatically mark them do not call, email, mail

    When marking someone deceased - the system should automatically mark them and any linked household as do not call, email, or mail. We are spending alot of time updating this.

    Profiles: Enhanced checking the deceased checkbox to have functionality. Now when marking a profile deceased, it will also make the profile inactive, mark the address, emails, phone as inactive, and the designations: vendor, student, and grantee.  Clients will also be able to use bulk update for the deceased field.  (Released May 2024)

20. Set Address/Phone Type in Profile Creation / Field in Profile Import Template

    When creating profiles, it's very tedious that you can't enter the type of address or type of phone number and have to create then edit again.

    This is especially tedious when you're uploading 200+ profiles using the profile import and have to manually go to each profile to set the address or phone number type. At the very least, having it be a field for importing profiles would be nice.

    • Profiles: Profiles have a new a look with this enhancement. Foundant is excited to take so many of the User submitted ideas from Idea Lab and make them happen in the software. This will allow a User to easily identify an individual, household, or organization record. Images have also been added to the top header box for easy reference as well. For easier navigation, the profile name and designation will appear in the browser tab at the top of the page.Below this header box, profile data has been organized in tabs: Details, Relationships, Engagements, Files, Notes. The left side menu will change depending on the tab a user has selected. The Details tab will house the rest of the profile information such as addresses, emails, birthday, salutations, tasks, and custom fields. The Relationships tab includes: Opportunities, Household Members, Profile Funds, Types, Profile Links, and Philanthropic Interest Area. Engagement tab includes: Active Campaigns and Similar Profiles. Just a quick call out, there is a new left-side menu to a new report called List All Campaigns which will return a report of active and inactive campaigns. Files and Notes tabs will be the last two tabs and will retain any files or notes for the profile.For easy navigation, Designations have been moved to the top of the page as well. Clients can easily use the “make” action item to add a designation to a profile. Designations will become bold as you navigate to one. The Designation pages will also follow the new tab system to allow for the profile header to stay on each page. The option to Make Affiliate/Supporting Org remains in the left menu of the main profile page for organizations.Enhancements have been made to the deceased and inactive checkboxes.
