  1. Csuite does not sort names like Excel does. We run into this issue often.

For example, the fund name "M. Scott Myers Award Fund":
    - in Csuite, this is alphabetized as MS...after funds beginning with "Mr. and Mrs..." etc.
    - in Excel, this appears at the top of the list of M's

Another example is the fund name "#FRONTLINEPROUD TM Fund"
Csuite - this is sorted as "frontline..."
Excel - this is at the top of the list because it begins with #

So much of what we do is exported to excel . If you're looking at an excel…

  2. On the Donor - Fund History - page, how do I show the actual amounts of the grantees on the pie chart? Currently the amounts are only visible if the mouse is hovered over a piece of the pie chart. Is there a way to make this completely visible in the settings so we can use this in meetings with Fundholders?

    Thanks!

  3. When you pull up a fund, you need to be able to see a description of the fund on the Details as it is now, not the new changes coming. There are too many processes to get the info you need.

  4. We would like to have a separate bucket for current fiscal year spendable on funds in addition to having the current spendable bucket.

Example: 2021 calculated spendable was $1000. $900 was used and there is $100 left that the fund owner wants to be ‘rollover’.
2022 calculated spendable was $1000. $900 was used and there is $100 left that the fund owner wants to be ‘rollover’ plus the $100 from 2021.
2023 calculated spendable is $1100. There is a total of $1300 available.
We would like to see current year calculated spendable of $1100 AND total spendable of $1300.

  5. Foundant should add all donations net of fees to the principal balance vs. the gross donation since the fees are never deposited into the fund. Adding the gross amount overstates the principal amount.

  6. Please add "CLOSED" to the funds that are closed in the LIST ALL and LIST DAFs and LIST AGENCY. When you are scrolling through the listing the Title Bar disappears so you have no idea what the Yes and No even stand for.

  7. Master funds are a subfund of multiple funds (for us 2 a designated and agency portion). It would be very beneficial if any of the attachments or notes that get put on the designated or agency portion get attached to the masterfund automatically OR vice versa where if we attach something on the master fund it goes to the subfunds. If we could have the ability to link a fund like you can for notes but be able to link 1 or multiple funds to one attachment that would be perfect.

Which also- having the ability to link notes to…

  8. Fund Summary
'List All' funds would be most beneficial - we have 70 groups - so 70 summaries to combine.
Also, to add filters and save as new report would be great.

  9. You recently implemented a feature that allows us to require that certain fields on a Profile record be populated before the user can save the record (detailed on this page https://support.foundant.com/hc/en-us/articles/6042827206807-Profiles-Settings).

It would be extremely useful to have this same functionality available on the Fund object. We frequently have data hygiene issues when users forget to fill in a particular field when they're creating a new Fund record. As much as you remind people that they must fill in certain fields, they sometimes forget. This causes all kinds of reporting issues, fund management issues, etc.

    Ideally, it would be…

  10. It would be great if there was an option to schedule when newly established funds are to be included in the granting calculations.

For most of our funds, we require them to sit idle for at least one calendar year after being realized to allow for some earnings to build up before we grant. Currently, we either have to remove them from the granting calculation altogether and just remember to add them back in after 1 year, or uncheck them from the distribution list before it's posted. Either way, we're relying on our notes and memories for this process. An…

  11. We would find it beneficial to have Vendor and totals also reported under the 'Reports' fund summary. We are aware we can use the >Reports dropdown to run a vendor specific report. Having Admin Fees, Grantees, Donors and Vendors on one report would help clarify money in and out across the board. (On my attachment example, the blue boxes shade proprietary/confidential information.)

  12. In the same manner as this original idea (that has been archived) and the comments, we are looking for a way to send an acknowledgement letter in bulk when we receive interfund grants. (Or even if they ended up in the donation tab that has the existing option to bulk create letters)

    https://idealab.foundant.com/forums/597718-communitysuite-idea-lab/suggestions/43357353-batch-option-for-interfund-grant-letters

As a side note, it seems like CSuite functions as if the only reason a donor would receive a note would to be receiving the tax language they'd need for a donation, however some donations come from another foundation or external DAFs, so it would also be…

  14. When identifying a fund, CSuite offers only one choice for "group". We have a fund that offers both scholarships and grants. It would be very helpful to be able to identify this fund as both on their profile. It is not two separate funds. Rather one fund that offers both.

  15. There's a Reclass option now available on Funds. It's for initial setup, but anyone can change that if they have the Edit permission on Funds. We'd like this broken out, having a separate permission within Funds for "Reclass". It seems too dangerous giving anyone who can edit a fund to be able to change this.

  16. We are new users and are quite surprised (disappointed) that there is no field to record the account ID number used by our investment manager on a Fund profile. Our work-around is to use the SHORT NAME field for the ID No.

Also, it would help if the SHORT NAME field - for our purposes anyway - would appear in the uneditable Audit Detail Reports in Admin Fees and Rev Share sections.

  18. I'm putting this under the "Funds" category but it would be equally useful on many other objects.

When we first migrated to CSuite from a different accounting system, it was recommended that we keep our old funding structure in place, and only change it once we had time to get used to the system.

That worked well in most respects. Now that we have been using CSuite for about a year, we finally undertook the project to reorganize the way we code our fund records. This means we have all new values in Fund Group, Fund SubGroup, Fund Division, and…

  19. We'd like to create templates that we could bulk download per month for anniversaries in a similar fashion to using tax receipt templates for donation acknowledgements.

I've attached an example of something along the lines of what we are currently utilizing for fund anniversaries. This is just for DAF fundholders currently, but we are also working toward creating anniversary or some other type of regular acknowledgements for nonprofit endowment and designated fundholders. The current process is very manual, having to download the fund donations and create the graph of the breakdown of which top 5-7 organizations they're donating to (it…

  20. When you go to Funds and click List DAFs or List Agency, closed funds are included in the listings. Is there a way to please mark in red which Funds are closed in these particular listings? You should be able to pull these listings up and not see closed Funds. Very confusing.
