  1. I am concerned of the cost of Stripe - It seems to be creeping up. The last example I pulled it was 3.6%, yet we tell a donor it's 3%. Has anyone else noticed this? $200 donation was charged $6.10 for the Stripe fee (3.05%) - then we were charged $7.22 (3.6%).

  2. Our organization is required to include data from a custom field in our year-end tax receipts. This is currently not possible. I would like to request that custom fields be available in the year-end receipts. Without this field we have to create the entire mail merge process outside of CSuite.

    9/22/2023: Idea Lab Live: 

    Yearly Tax Receipts: Added the ability to print Envelopes for Yearly Tax Receipts.  Best practice would be to use Custom Reporting, opposed to Filtered Reports, so that clients can filter out donors without addresses.  Envelope job will not complete with profiles that are missing addresses.  


    Templates: Added the Profile and Donation Custom Fields to the Yearly Tax Receipt, along with the Household Salutation.  

  3. Currently our promoted funds list has to be organized by fund group; however, many donors aren't familiar with the different types of funds, so it would be great if the fund group headers could be removed and the funds could be sorted in any order we determine. Thanks for considering!

  4. This suggestion refers to the donation page when a donor is making a donation on our website. There is a "checkbox" for a donor to choose if they would like to pay the optional 3% processing fee. At this time, it is not possible to change the wording for this field, as it is hardcoded in the system. Current verbiage is attached in a screenshot.

    It would be great it we had the capability to edit this language to something more friendly like...

    "if you cover the processing fee, we will receive 100% of your donation"

    "I'd like to…

  5. This has been suggested in the past and would be very helpful in instances where a couple divorces or multiple people need to be soft credited for a contribution such as where a family DAF or PF is concerned external from the Community Foundation.

    Donations: Enhanced donations by adding a soft credit field.  Soft credits can have more that one profile added to a donation. Soft credits will not be reflected on the donor profile. There is now a donation soft credit report in custom reporting. There is also a new table for csdata migrations to import soft credits on donations during migrations.

  6. When you run a donations report, it gives you a list of donations with the total dollar amount at the bottom. Can we get the total count of donations as well? I have to export this report to excel to do a count and that's very time consuming.

  7. It seems to be like there should be a quick simple way to query the number of donors, as opposed to donations, for a specific date range. I was told by chat support that I had to run a donor report for the date range and then export the data to Excel to determine that number. They said the report within CSuite would only show 100 donors.

    Dashboards: Dashboards will be available in the following areas: Funds, Profiles, Donations, and Donors. These will be available from the left hand menu in the respective objects. This will allow quick information about these areas in the system. Each dashboard will have date filters across the top to easily select different time frames of data. The year filters will return data based on the fiscal year set in site data. The start and end date will also reflect the Date Style selected in System Data.

    This will be the first release of dashboards with plans to role out new dashboards in different objects over the next several months.  We will also be adding additional filters to this default dashboards later in the year.

    Permissions: There is a new permission for each dashboard.  This has been enabled for anyone in the Admin Group.  An Admin User for each site will need…

  8. On the donation portal on the checkout page, donors have the option to click "I wish my donation to remain anonymous". When a donor clicks this, foundation staff are not sure if the donor means they wish their name to be anonymous or the amount of the gift to be anonymous. There should be clearer language so the donor and staff know what clicking that button means. Alternatively, there could be two buttons to click: one for anonymous name and the other for anonymous donation amount.

    This has been implemented.  Selecting anonymous on the checkout page means that that the donor name associated with the donation is anonymous (not the amount).  Here is the release note:  

    Donation Settings: Added a new content area for the Donation Portal. These new settings are found in Donation Settings: Cover CC Fee Title, Cover CC Fee Description, Anonymous Title, Anonymous Description.
    -Cover CC Fee Title is a customizable label to let donor's opt into covering the donation fees on the Donation Portal.
    -Cover CC Fee Description is a customizable description field next to the Cover CC Fee Title on the Donation Portal.
    -Anonymous Title is a customizable label to let donor's opt select to have the donation remain anonymous from the Donation Portal.

  9. It would be nice for folks to be able to select "Household" alongside "Individual" or "Organization" when donating on the public online donation page. We have had some people donate as an individual recently and add in spouses on the "Recognition Name." This makes the donation and acknowledgement show up under the individual when we really want to acknowledge the household.

  10. It would be great to have suggested gift levels: $25, $50, $100, $500, $1000 with the option to use it or not. This was a popular idea in the Summit session about customizing the donation portal.

    The following was released on 12/7/22:


    Donation Portal: Added an option in the donation portal to receive ACH payments from Stripe for donations and recurring donations. Stripe payments that come into CommunitySuite without a fee will not automatically be posted. Instead they will land in the till. This will allow clients to add the ACH fee once it has been processed within Stripe. Once they have added the fee, they can then deposit into their Stripe clearing account. A hyperlink has been added to the profile payment so that clients can easily review the transaction within Stripe. Clients will need to enable the ACH bank account payment method within their Stripe Account. Revised the language in an action button on the donation portal from "Pay with Credit/Debit Card" to "Continue".

  12. In reviewing some historical ideas, I've come across this:

    So often, a photo tells the story. Most online giving sites have space for an image to accompany a story. As a Community Foundation, we often receive gifts given to uphold the legacy of a loved one. We would like the ability to upload an image for each fund.

  13. It would be helpful if once a donation is reviewed, it doesn't automatically advance to the next donation requiring review. That way, a tax receipt (if needed) can be generated without also having to return to the receipt bucket.

  14. It would be very helpful if you allowed merged records to retain the credit card information for recurring donations. I've lost several credit card numbers during de-duplication and reaching out to them to ask for their card numbers or to reschedule their donations is too time consuming!

  15. I would like the ability to download a tribute letter that is marked as email for notification. Our executive director writes a personal note on it, I scan it, and then email it from my work email.

    Also: It is now marked as sent as soon as a tribute is downloaded. That isn't always the case for us because I download one letter, put all the donors on the letter, and then send it. I send them out weekly if there are a lot of donations.

    8/2/2023: Tributes: In order to manage tributes more efficiently, a new workflow has been designed for Tributes.

    The Tribute list view is now a custom report with the ability to sort each column and  have the ability to apply filters, save filtered lists, export, email and load for future use. On the left hand menu, there is also a new Delete Unused menu item.  This will allow clients to delete any unused tributes that do not have donations attached to the tribute or if the tribute does not have associated notify information. If the notify address or email information is not completed, the tribute information will move to a non-notify tribute field.  This will allow clients to retain the information about the tribute on the donation in a text field.

    A status field has been added to tributes. By default, all tributes are now public.  The public status will allow…

  16. When importing donations with Tributes, we often do NOT want to notify anyone. We just want to record the "in honor" name. We used to not be required to enter any notify information. Now we are required to enter notify method, notify name etc. Could we go back to not being required to enter those fields? Thanks!

  17. I would like to be able to filter by donation creation date, not just donation date. We often receive donations that have an earlier gift date (checks, matching gifts), and for reporting purposes I need to be able to differentiate between these two dates.

  18. When inputting a donation for an existing tribute, i would like to see the notify person in brackets [ ]. Since there can be multiple notify persons per person being remembered, it would be helpful to see which existing tribute should be selected when duplicate memorials appear.

In the last year, CSuite offered the option to generate a new tax receipt serial # - this was often used when a tax receipt was accidentally marked as 'sent' or when corrections needed to be made to a letter. This function has been removed and tax receipts can no longer be regenerated, but now must be manually created. My suggestion is that users be given the option to regenerate individual tax receipts - especially for cases where letters have not been sent or corrections need made.
