  1. When marking someone deceased - the system should automatically mark them and any linked household as do not call, email, or mail. We are spending alot of time updating this.

Profiles: Enhanced checking the deceased checkbox to have functionality. Now when marking a profile deceased, it will also make the profile inactive, mark the address, emails, phone as inactive, and the designations: vendor, student, and grantee.  Clients will also be able to use bulk update for the deceased field.  (Released May 2024)

  2. When a profile is marked INACTIVE, you should not be able to cut a check or a grant or post a donation. We had a grant check go out in error to an inactive profile. At the very minimum there should be a warning that you are processing on an inactive profile. FIMS did not allow you to have transactions pushed through on an inactive record.

5/3/2023: Profiles have a new a look with this enhancement.  Foundant is excited to take so many of the User submitted ideas from idea lab and make them happen in the software.  Our highest voted idea lab submission was the ability to identify the main profile data regardless of the designation.

The profile summary includes the information needed when working with constituents. The primary profile data will now be static at the top of the page regardless of the designation page that is being viewed.  This summary includes an image, primary contact information, last donation date and pronouns.  With this new layout there will be an icon next to the profiles name at the header.  This will allow a User to easily identify an individual, household, or organization record.   Images have also been added to the top header box for easy reference as well. 3. Please add the ability to search profiles by EIN it would make it much easier to find the correct organization as SO MANY use similar names or DBA other names

    • Profiles: Enhanced the profiles search option to include address, phone numbers, and EIN. Email and phone search has been moved to the main page, instead of left-side menu options. Inactive profiles will now have a red inactive at the end of their profile in the search areas. This will help easily identify if the profile is inactive before selecting the profile.

  4. I recently discovered that marking a profile deceased did not prevent donation notification emails from being sent to this fund advisor. Knowing this now, I will always delete a deceased profile's fund advisor access as well as marking their profile deceased. However, it would be very helpful if after a profile is marked deceased, the system would refer to that and not send any automated emails to that profile. Thanks for considering!

  5. When creating profiles, it's very tedious that you can't enter the type of address or type of phone number and have to create then edit again.

This is especially tedious when you're uploading 200+ profiles using the profile import and have to manually go to each profile to set the address or phone number type. At the very least, having it be a field for importing profiles would be nice.

  6. In addition to searching profiles by name, it would be helpful to be able to search by address. We often find duplicates that happened or profiles created and not linked to their household because a person's name was slightly different on the checks from one account than another, or because they were listed as Mrs. John Smith on the joint check and Jane Smith on their individual check. If we could check by address, we would probably catch more of these.

  7. In the gray box where it says "Profile," include the type of profile it is (i.e. individual, household, organization). At first glance, it is sometimes hard to tell if you are looking at an organization or individual -- causing donations to sometimes be attached to the wrong profile. Or update the gray bar to different colors for different profiles.

  8. The system now ignores prefixes when specifying a search, which is great. So Mr. John Doe can be found by entering Doe, John. However, suffixes aren’t ignored. So Mr. John Doe Sr. has to be entered as Doe Sr., John. It would be great if suffixes could also be ignored on searches.

  9. When looking at a deceased household profile, it is easy to see that the profile is deceased as there is a red bar at the top of the profile page. However, when looking at an individual non-deceased profile who is a member of a deceased household, there is nothing on the living individual profile page to alert you that the household is deceased. It would be helpful if in the living individual profile, there was a note next to their household name that alerted you the household is deceased without having to click into it and verify. Thanks for considering!

  10. Was curious if all fields in the profile area can be tracked for changes? Noticed today that linking two profiles together or unlinking has no audit log tracking. Appears the website field of a profile also is not tracked for changes. Hoping all the fields can be tracked for changes so we can know who/what/when data was changed!

  11. There is the option to bulk add zip codes to a service area but it would be even more helpful if after you list profiles in a service area, you could bulk add those profiles to that service area. This way you don't have to manually go in and change all those service areas one at a time.

  12. When utilizing the "print envelope" feature within a person or organization's profile, all of the listed addresses populate to select from...even the inactive ones. To be sure, one must use the back button to confirm the primary. Please list the primary address as the top option and PLEASE do not list inactive addresses. This could save time and avoid many slip ups when mailing via USPS (sharing for a friend...) Thanks :)

  13. For solicitations specific to the community foundation, we need to be able to filter out folks who want to hear from us generally but don't want to be asked for donations. A solicitation-specific option akin to the Do Not Call/Do Not Mail/Do Not Email would be perfect.

  15. I would be great if you could create a new profile in one step instead of clicking create. Add name, one address, one phone, etc. and then save. Then click edit to customize profile. It would be easier to just create a new profile in the customization view instead of the short view.

  16. I want to be able to search by "Smith, Joe" without having to type in "Smith, Mr. Joe". The profile search used to let me put in "Smith, Joe" but since the latest update it no longer does, and when you are trying to link a profile or search for profile from donation page it doesn't ignore prefix there either. I don't always know whether the person is a Ms. Miss, Mrs. etc, so it consumes time looking through the list for the correct profile.

  18. Our list of Profile Types is becoming longer each year. We delete types we no longer need, but it is still becoming unwieldy. It would be very helpful if we could archive Profile Types that we want to keep for the historical record so that they wouldn't appear every time we are assigning Profile Types. Similar to what has been done with Campaigns.

The ability to archive profile types was released on 9/7/2022.  Here is the release note:

Archive Profile Types: From an individual profile type, clients will now have the ability to archive or delete profile types. Archiving the profile type will allow clients to keep any historical profile types for reporting and filtering. There are now separate permissions for archiving and deleting profile types. Archive and delete profile type permissions have been enabled for users in the admin group.

  20. In the new changes to sandbox for profiles. Wish that when you are looking at a household - you can see the list of household members closer to the top of the screen. You have to do a lot of scrolling if that profile has profile types on it in order to see if there are household members. Having to do that scrolling is taking A LOT of time. It would be much more helpful to have the household members in the box at the top with the household. That way you can click on the link for the individual…
