  1. Currently, when SmartVersioning is used, it will copy over all the fields in the Core version to the new version. It does not, however, copy over the dynamic visibility. So if the dynamic visibility changes between versions, you have to manually keep all of your dynamic visibilities updated to the newest versions. This is a pain when you have to manage dozens of dynamic visibility fields.

It would make more sense that, if a dynamic visibility is set to the Core version, that it automatically adds the new version that is stamped from the Core. If fore some reason this…

  2. Currently, we only have the option to display data on charts as counted totals. We would like to be able to display data as percentages on these charts for evaluation purposes.

  3. The search functionality for the end users is far too strict, to where you will get different results when using an apostrophe versus not using one. Being able to incorporate AI into this search or another method to simulate a fuzzy search will vastly improve the end user experience when using the search functionality.

  5. Our applicants and grantees have asked for this. They can type in a URL into a text box, but the link will display as a static link. It would great to have a field type like the Web Site field from the organization profile page that displays the link as a clickable URL.

  6. Just like when creating a workflow task allows updating multiple custom fields at once, the same functionality should apply to standard fields. Currently, updating each standard field requires a separate task. So, if I need to update 5 standard fields, I have to create 5 different tasks — whereas for custom fields, all changes can be made within a single task.

  7. Many clients have fiscal years that are not calendar years. We need an easy way to set the fiscal year (e.g. 10/1-9/30) and be able to use this to filter list views.

  8. Full Flow diagrams start out as a jumbled mess which have to be sorted manually to get an idea of the overall picture. Can you present this diagram in an arranged order that shows the overall relationships clearly? A before and after example has been uploaded to show how it could be ordered. Statuses and buttons are aligned columnwise with buttons between statuses.

  9. When building a linear workflow, there's some additional config overhead that could be removed if we had a "auto-connect" feature in workflow tasks that connected first task in firing order to the next (and so on and so forth) until the end

  10. The list view search and filter criteria far exceeds the workflow search (which only allows 1 condition). Would love to see the functionality that is currently available in UTA searches be applied to workflow and task searches

  11. It would be nice to have a single place to manage all translations: User Roles, Types, Status, Standard Fields, Custom fields, Submit Buttons, Tasks, List Views, Portals, Shortcuts...
    1) See, per language, existing translations and which translations are missing
    2) Batch delete of translations
    3) Export, per language, all translations in a single Excel file, reimport the same file with updated translations

  12. It would be really helpful to have the option in the various Security Matrix sections to toggle all the checkboxes on or off across for a particular field, not just down for a Role or Status.

And as we can do with the 3 dots in the header row to "Copy Row Settings", I'd like to be able to "Copy Field Settings".

Use Case: I have a similar update I'd like to make to a large number of new fields to remove all the current permissions and replace with updated permissions and need to go through each field and each…

  13. The Save & Validate button type (https://wiki.smartsimple.com/wiki/Submit_%26_Save_Buttons) only saves when there are no validation issues. We've changed the caption to "Check question status" to avoid this misnomer and have created a separate button that changes status, completes validation, and returns to draft if validation (field-level and logic) issues are present.

Consider changing the workflow steps so the system saves first then validates and presents error messages where required fields are incomplete.

  14. Email Anything uses UUIDs --- which work well for emails that originate from SmartSimple, but require an extra step to go find UUID if you're trying to route an email to a SmartSimple object for storage/recordkeeping.

We'd love to see a UUID aliasing solution in the product roadmap. The biggest use case is for external users who are corresponding with staff based on an known, common attribute of the L1 application record (e.g. application ID). If they could add something like [client]-[opp]-[recordid]@smartsimple.com to the email thread as an alias for the L1 record of interest, it'd be a lot easier…

  15. Consider allowing concurrent record access as long as same field (or alternatively) same tab isn't being edited. There's good reason to have record locks for many orgs and use cases, but the whole record doesn't necessarily need to be locked.

Applicants and grantees typically wait until the deadline to submit. Suppose two staff members are collaborating simultaneously on different tabs / fields as deadline approaches. With record locks, there's a fair bit of coordination w/ applicant grantee to submit in timely fashion. If record locks were made at field or tab as opposed to record as a whole, it would…

  16. It would be nice if there was an easy way to mark a Task Connector as "Do this thing if none of the other Task Connectors work."

Right now, let's say you have 10 Task Connectors, and each Task Connector is dependant on the outcome of a drop-down field on a form. In order to do a "none-of-the-above", you would have to do something manually like "@dropdown@" NOT IN ('option1','option2',etc...). Instead of having to account for every situation, just having a flag would simplify the whole workflow design.

  17. Users who are in financial or compliance would like to be able to report on existing Grants, with the latest (for example), budget amendment, financial report, etc. The report will contain Grant record fields, and latest budget amendment record fields.
Currently, using the max function in a report column, only gives the max value of that specific column.
This function or ability will be useful for a lot of clients.

  18. We would like to be able to create role filters for contact association listviews in the submission manager. This capability is already available for global contact listviews, and we believe it would be useful to build custom filter settings to make grant contacts easier to navigate. E.g., a list of all reviewers assigned to a grant, communications contacts, etc. This would enable staff members to open a list of contacts and immediately parse the individuals with whom they'd like to interact directly without navigating through several other names.

The current views are a bit cluttered with, for instance, 8 reviewers,…

  19. A recent SmartSimple update included a change with the GuideStar Charity Check feature, where it now pulls a GuideStar Pro report versus just pulling the Charity Check report. I'm not sure if it's just us or if there are any other clients have found this to be burdensome to their processes for a couple of reasons.

    1) It now takes so much longer for the report to be pulled into the record (at least 5-10 minutes). So, it's not as immediate as it once was.

    2) We don't use all of the other information that is in the Pro report.…

  20. When running a report on an Organization Profile with address book enabled, it seems that it is only possible for the report to return one address (the one designated as primary).

In our configuration we have allowed users to enter 1 record for each address type: Mailing and Physical. The idea is that they might have a physical location but prefer to get mail at a PO Box, for instance.

Only the Mailing Address fields show up when a report is run with the Company dataset. It would be great to somehow get a report to display each address type…
