Rich Text in Email Templates
If you use syntax like sscal in Rich Text, the text does not appear in HTML View. It would be nice if the syntax showed as part of the text.

This is a known issue that will be addressed soon via a new variable syntax. In the meantime, disable rich text editor when editing emails with sslogic.

Gmail Plug-in
Utilize Gmail for their mail service. Would love to have a plug-in that would allow them to sync emails from their Gmail account into SmartSimple.

Edit automatic email (confirm your new email address)
The system generates emails to people who need to confirm their email address. Example attached. For many people, it appears to be spam as there is no mention of us (HMSA, the funder). I would like to be able to edit this email to include mention of our company and an email they can reply to, so they know this email is a legitimate email.

API integration for email send (Microsoft Graph, Gmail API)
We currently configure SMTP relays for clients who wish to send email from their own domains.
However, it is often challenging to work with client IT teams to enable SMTP AUTH on the required mailboxes.
In these situations, we are frequently asked whether SmartSimple supports — or plans to support — integration with Microsoft 365 (Graph API) or Gmail API for outbound mail delivery.
We understand that the February upgrade strengthened security by enforcing OAuth 2.0 for SMTP authentication. However, this still relies on SMTP as the transport protocol, which many IT providers increasingly consider legacy compared to modern API-based…

Allow the "Interaction" user interface to send emails to selected contacts using the group emailer.
Why have "email" as an interaction type if you can't actually create, select, store or reference the email within the user interface?
Use case: Our Finance staff wants to initiate an email conversation about unspent grant funds with an organization. The easy way would be to create an Interaction, use the "Email" type, and have it open an email template they could add subject line, body, and attachment(s) to, then select the "To" options from the "Contacts" specified in the Interaction. When a contact replied to the email, the email should show up in the owner's regular email client but…

We are targeting an Outlook integration in an upcoming release. This will allow a user to create and store an email in SmS from Outlook. The additional scope for this idea is to support the same process from SmS to Outlook.

Defining reply-to email address at email template level
All our emails are sent from "no-reply@smartsimple.eu"
However, even if this is a "no-reply" email address and we describe in the email body the one to use to reply, users continue to use the "reply" button of their email client. So, we would like to define, at the email template level, the reply email address to use (can't be a global parameter as multiple internal teams are involved).
For now, we try to use the "(reply-to)" feature in cc (see screenshot - do not remove it!) but this is not very practical15 votes -

Re-use previous notification
Add the possibility to re-activate a previous notification. Currently we set up a notification for a period of time and once this period is over the notification becomes archived and non-editable. It would be great if we could re-use a previously made notification by simply re-activating it and setting up a new period of time of its visibility.

Good suggestion, we will consider a 'copy' option to support this use case

Formatting Control for Email Confirmation Template
The font and text size used in the system-generated email with the subject “Confirm Your New Email Address” are not consistent with the formatting used in other system-generated emails. A fix related to this issue is scheduled for the February release as part of the ticket referenced below.
Given this, could we introduce a configuration control for this email template—similar to what is currently available for password-reset and new-user emails? Having this control would allow us to adjust the text and font formatting as needed to meet branding or client requirements.
Please refer to SmartSimple ticket #275411 for additional details.

Slack Integration
Add a Slack integration for SmartSimple so teams can receive automated messages when action is needed, such as approvals, tasks, updates, or missing information. Messages could include basic details, a link to the SmartSimple record, and buttons like Approve or Reject. Users could take quick action directly from Slack, while SmartSimple saves the response. Admins could choose which workflows send Slack messages and who receives them. This would help reduce email, speed up decisions, and make it easier for users to stay on top of important SmartSimple tasks.

Notification Broadcast
Add the possibility in the Notification Broadcast to have the notification stay visible all the time once using the sytem. Currently the user has the notification at connexion only and then the notification closes. After this improvement the notification could appear all the time, preventing the user from missing important information.

Enable "File from Local Disk" for Group Emails also
Currently, the "File from Local Disk" option is only available on the Message Center email. It'll be useful to have the option to select a file from the local disk when using Group Emails, also.
