  1. In the new version of the applicant experience (which we are big fans of!), I love that the process is listed up front, our grantees used to struggle with identifying their different grants and which program they were connected to, but now the project name doesn't seem to be reflected anywhere on the new applicant home page. For our grantees/organizations that may have more than one project in a process (fairly common with local universities or hospital systems) the follow ups are indistinguishable unless they click into the form. Is there anywhere or any way that the project name could…

  2. The new applicant dashboard shows a red icon when there are pseudo-common or opportunity-specific third-party submissions that are outstanding (this is great!), but right now it doesn't show the icon if a common third-party submission is outstanding. The count (0/1, 0/2, etc.) when you hover over the icon also only includes pseudo-common or opportunity-specific third-party submissions. This has the potential to be confusing for applicants because they could believe all of their common third-party requests have been submitted when they are actually still outstanding. As an administrator, it will also be difficult to direct applicants on identifying which of their…

  3. I've seen a couple of posts about this already, but not sure that it was articulated in this way. It's scholarship season and students are stressed out trying to submit their applications and get teachers to complete their letters of recommendation. I was really surprised to learn there currently isn't any formal notification that gets sent when a teacher completes their 3rd party letter of recommendation in SLM. Teachers would benefit knowing their work was properly received. Students want to know they don't have to worry about this or nag their teacher to do this, and admins want to know…

  4. When I add a comment to an application in GLM (and mark it so that the applicant can see it), is there a way to change the font color or make the font BOLD so that the comments are more visible to the applicant? With all the text on the page, the comments just blend in and applicants aren't seeing them - which means they call me 900 times a day!!!

  5. We're from a small community, and we often have individuals who volunteer with multiple organizations. It would be helpful if we could assign one user in GLM to multiple organizations.

  6. Update Prefixes to include gender neutral "M." and non-binary "Mx.". I know it says etc.; however, since it does spell out Mr., Mrs., Ms. we should include M. and Mx. to be respectful of those who identify as gender neutral or non-binary.

  7. Our Foundation supports a nonprofit healthcare system. Our Foundations grant both internally to departments to better the patient experience and externally to nonprofit organizations in the communities we serve. Therefore, we have to have an external application process and an internal application process. Multiple times this year, I had applicants moving too fast and not reading which application they were clicking the "Apply" button for and even though the questions weren't making sense, just kept going and submitting. That created a lot of rework for both our operations team and the applicant to copy the content over to the correct…

With our December 2024 release, we’ve rolled out exciting improvements to enhance every step of the applicant journey.

If you feel something could still be improved, we’d love to hear from you! Please share your feedback on this Idea Lab post and help us shape the future of the applicant experience:https://idealab.foundant.com/forums/339786/suggestions/49176485

  8. It would be great if the apply page could be shown in a grid or have a sort of table of contents on the side/top of the page -- we had several applicants apply to the wrong process because they clicked on the first opportunity (which takes up most of the screen). It seems some of them did not realize they could scroll/did not realize that there were multiple opportunities on the apply page.

  10. Build a function where in-progress LOIs/applications and evaluations autosave regularly (perhaps every 30 seconds like in Google Drive/Forms)? I cannot tell you how many folks exit the page or forgot to hit save/submit, and lose all of their work, because they're used to autosave functions on so many other softwares they use. This would save so many headaches, and truly improve the experience for our applicants, grantess, and staff.

    Hello Annie,

Autosave is enabled in all Foundant forms.  Questions save as you move from question to question, with every 100 characters in text responses, and any other click or take action the work will be saved.  At a maximum with our autosave a user should only lose work of one questions.  If you have seen this not be the case we ask the you please escalate to our support team.

  11. It would be nice if a user could be easily registered under more than one organization, using the same log in credentials to enter the grant management system. Hey, a girl can dream! :) Thank you!

  12. The ability to turn off the 'preview' button (per process) on the public apply page would be helpful. If the Eligibility phase is being used or if the application form in a process has a lot of branching, the preview does not accurately represent the application requirements.

Alternatively, it'd be great to be able to insert a custom link so that users are taken to an informational page/pdf when they click the preview button.

  13. Our applications typically require a lot of uploads. They also have a lot of conditional logic. For instance, if someone is applying for a smaller amount of money, we ask for less financial documents, It would be nice if the allotment for file size allowance per application took the conditional logic into account instead of making it all cumulative. We bump into the issue of not having enough file size space in our applications all the time, and often steal a megabyte or two from one upload field to accommodate another, only to need to steal from somewhere else, etc.

  14. I would like to see a bigger space between multiple processes that are open on the "Apply" page. Currently, there is a tiny space between each process' "box", and our applicants frequently click the first blue "Apply" button they see.... which is often for the process below the one for which they actually want to apply. We have instructions saying to click the button at the top-right of the box but we all know people don't read well. If there was greater differentiation between the list of open grants then applicants may scroll back up to the correct Apply button.

  15. It would be very helpful if, on the applicant side of the dashboard, that urgent items/impending due dates could be big/red/or listed at the top of each process.
We consistently run into grantees not being able to find their final grant report/follow up forms that are due on their dashboard because it's listed at the bottom and not called to attention in any real way.

Also, many grantees never see the edit button to the far right because there's a large white space after the text, so they assume there's no more information and don't realize that the full page…

  16. A lot of our users get confused when they initially look at their applicant dashboard because all of the grant requests are expanded and finding each individual grant gets confusing. Also, the title of each grant does not stand out very well since it is just a grey button. It would be helpful if we could change the default view of the applicant dashboard so that all of the requests are collapsed, and then you can click on each to expand, instead of starting with the expanded view.

  17. It would be great to have a feature where we could change the color of tabs on the applicant dashboard. We get many calls from applicants who are having difficulty navigating their dashboard and breaking up the dashboard with different colors would likely help with this.

    Hi Everyone!

As of our Nov 2023 the Edit links for Follow Ups have been replaced with Buttons.

The button with say, START, CONTINUE, VIEW or PREVIEW depending on the status up the follow up.  We hope this is more clear and easier for applicants to find.

If you have additional feedback be ask that you add that to a new idea!

  19. New applicants are seeking the apply option when they log in the first time. While the new format for the dashboard makes other navigation clearer, the Apply gets lost in the navigation bar at the top of the page. Suggest making the Apply option larger and bolded so it's more visible.

  20. It would help users who type in access codes incorrectly if the system gave an error message rather than just returning to the same screen. Without an error message, they don't know they have the code wrong.
