GLM: Block new application if grant report isn't complete
Block new application from applicant who hasn't completed a grant report on a previous grant award. This would encourage applicants to complete their grant report and provide another level of due diligence built into GLM
31 votesThank you for the idea.
Would you hope this is implemented across all processes?

Login Log for GLM
As it stands right now, the login record in GLM just shows the last time a user logged in and that includes someone proxying into their record. It would be nice to be able to see a detailed list like we are able to in CSuite.

SLM/GLM ability for Applicants to Chat with Foundation staff
A Chat feature to be able to help students in the moment could be very helpful.
Student behavior - Once they leave an application it is hard to get them back to finish it. Students are used to using a CHAT feature when they need help. They often won't pick up a phone for help & are hesitant to send emails.
I would rather help them in the moment then spend time on my Dashboard figuring out why they have some applications in draft, some in submitted and emailing them how to keep going. (Students often don't read emails)

Process Manager
In the process manager, there is currently 2 buckets for processes to live:
-Available
-ArchiveWe'd like to see a third option for processes to live for historical management:
-Available/Active
-Unavailable/Inactive
-Archive/HistoricalWe have processes that have gone through several updates over time. It would be nice to keep what we need in Available/Active and Unavailable/Inactive buckets but older version in Archive/Historical that are not so forward facing. Not available on the immediate search area/filter area. A place for historical process to go and live instead of deleting or saving a PDF version on our internal drives.
It would also…

Organizational Information Section - that is evergreen
We would really like to have information uploaded to an Organizational page/section. For example - one-time upload of 501(c)3 documents, board members, organizational chart, the reason for non-profit, D&O insurance ect. A place where they can change when needed, but not each grant cycle.

preferred gender pronouns
It would be really helpful to ask all system users/contacts for their preferred gender pronouns (e.g. she/her/hers, he/him/his, they/them/their, and so on). In this day and age, it's important to people to be correctly addressed.
6 votesHello,
This can be added to the user form today. One piece we have heard is that this should be more visible in other areas of the software, if you could please call out where you would expect to see this information

recurring grants
It would be extremely helpful if we could indicate that a grant is an annually recurring opportunity, so that it would automatically be created each year, rather than having to do so manually.

New administrator comment notification to applicant
We believe the administrator comment function is valuable. Its impact could be even stronger if given the option to notify the applicant that a new administrator comment has been added to their application. This seems to work well for the Idea Lab!

Option to Disable Question List Button for Branching Processes
We use branching questions in our grant application that are set to internal so we can branch an applicant to the application we want them to complete and not have multiple processes in our site. I just realized that when an applicant clicks on the "Question List" button in their site, this shows them ALL of the questions in our application, regardless of how the application should be branched. The fact that applicants can see the entire question list for an application seems to negate the purpose of branching. This is very confusing for applicants because they do not know…
4 votesHello,
You are correct in that all branch groups are displayed in the question list; we follow this as best practice for projects like project streamlining so that applicants don't become surprised by the amount of time the application will take them. We also encourage as a best practice that you add instructions to the branch groups for that visibility and communication explain when they will see that group.
However, Internal Questions should not be displayed to applicants. Please report this to our support team so that we can review it.

Shared Question across processes
We have a question used in several processes. I propose a question maintained in the process manager than can be added to multiple processes. We would have one location to maintain the response options for simplicity/authority. It would also streamline reporting metrics with uniform answers for comparison.

New Applicant/User
New applicants should have the ability to copy applications from previous users. As of right now, new applicants/users can see the history but have to completely reapply instead of copying previous information over. Nonprofits will not always have the same person applying for funds year after year and if a new user is assigned as an applicant to an organization/nonprofit, they should have the same abilities as those before them.

Document upload option on applicant dashboard
Resurrecting a request from another user that was archived.
We would like our applicants to be able to upload relevant documentation to their accounts and also processes, such as invoices, voided checks, to ensure that their successors have all information on any awards that they may need in the future.
Original request submission:
We keep insurance certificates and audits on file for our applicants (who submit multiple applications per year). We don't want them to have to upload these key documents over and over again to every single application or followup that they submit.
I would like there to be…3 votes -
add alerts/auto-emails for documents when uploaded
Add the ability to add an auto-email template so users can be notified when a document is added to the documents tab. Especially if applicant facing.

eligibility quiz
In the eligibility quiz in GLM, the ability to customize a "passing" message like you can customize a "failure" message would be beneficial to make things very clear to applicants that they can move on to the application stage. We had a few organizations last cycle that passed the eligibility quiz but it wasn't entirely clear to them that they were allowed to move onto the next step in the application process.

View Organization History
Under the View Organization History system setting, it would be helpful to have an option of "Organization-by-Organization". Right now there are three options 1)All, 2)None, 3) User-by-user. It would be helpful to have it an option for Organization-by-Organization for those orgs who have the same EIN# but separate local chapters (or schools, in the case of a school district). For these type of applicants, we only want them to see their own chapter's information; but for all the rest of our nonprofit applicants, with the high turnover of NPO staff, it's helpful for them to see their entire organizational history.

drop the 2 factor verification for the scholarship application process
I am having a hard time getting Latino scholarship applicants because it takes 2 factor verification to get into the system. Most of our Latino students do not have cell phones or computers at home so it is difficult for them to apply

Send denial email when application is denied.
I need a denial email to be sent to the applicant when I hit deny on the application. When the application is approved, an email is sent. But I have to go in and send a separate email after I have denied the request. I don't want to deny a request but forget to notify them!

We have expanded to use this application to our Europe locations. As of right now, the Amount Requested is hard coded to ONLY dollars. Is there any interest in expanding this to other currencies?

Streamlining Third Party Question Groups
Asking an applicant to compose an email to their anonymous third party is an extra step that overcomplicates things. The applicant has to deal with opening up an email interface, copy-pasting a pre-written message, etc. And for what? It's redundant to send the third party an email explaining that they'll be getting another email.
It should work like references on a resume. Provide us with the third party's email address, and we'll contact them ourselves. Simple as.
