Bottom scroll bar
On the L2 view within the L1, there are two scroll bars on the right and then a bottom scroll bar below all the L2s. if there are many L2s on the list, one would have to scroll all the way down to move the scroll bar to the right. It would be nice to have the bottom scroll bar be static on the page.

We agree this should be considered. We will look at this in an upcoming release.

Good usability suggestions, the only item not under consideration is the last one with the ability to leverage a user's SQL

Allow URLs to be opened from Notes
We are currently using the Notes feature to add instructions to reviewed reports in order to allow for replies between reviewers and grantees.
Often times these notes will include links to support documents. While these URLs appear as hyperlinks, when clicked they open within the SmartSimple UI and are blocked.
I suggest automatically adding the _blank target to all URLs added to notes to allow them to be opened directly.

Provide a group message board for all SmartSimple clients
It would be great for SmartSimple to provide a message board where all SmartSimple clients can exchange and share questions/ideas/solutions. Message board will have a working search functionality where clients can search for solutions before posting questions for help.

Data Extraction API - Inclusion of data from all field types (and particularly data tables)
Currently data captured through fields such as Basic and Advanced Data Tables is not included in the responses returned by the Data Extraction API.
It would be ideal to have them included and formatted as a json or xml.
In general, I think it would make sense that all collected data is made accessible through the Data Extraction API.2 votes -
Tables in PDF generation
When generating an application summary, tables don't format properly. There's no way to control table column size. When you have more than 8 columns, longer field names get compressed to two characters. This makes no sense because these are the longer ones. For example, if you have columns with numbers and then a comments field, you can't increase the width of the comments field to make it readable.
4 votesWhen generating PDFs from web‑based application data, tables are rendered within a fixed page width and rely on automatic column scaling. When a table contains a large number of columns (such as 8 or more), the available horizontal space is divided across all columns, which can cause headers and values, particularly those with longer content, to become compressed.
While it is technically possible to influence table and column widths through more advanced configuration using custom CSS, this approach is fragile and difficult to maintain. PDF rendering engines often interpret CSS inconsistently, and small changes to data, labels, or page layout can easily break the formatting. As a result, this custom configuration solution is typically not reliable enough for dynamic application data and may introduce ongoing maintenance challenges, making it impractical for many use cases.
Additionally, from a design and usability perspective, long‑form or narrative content (such as comments) is not…

API integration for email send (Microsoft Graph, Gmail API)
We currently configure SMTP relays for clients who wish to send email from their own domains.
However, it is often challenging to work with client IT teams to enable SMTP AUTH on the required mailboxes.
In these situations, we are frequently asked whether SmartSimple supports — or plans to support — integration with Microsoft 365 (Graph API) or Gmail API for outbound mail delivery.
We understand that the February upgrade strengthened security by enforcing OAuth 2.0 for SMTP authentication. However, this still relies on SMTP as the transport protocol, which many IT providers increasingly consider legacy compared to modern API-based…

Annotation Mode Usability Issue While in Split Screen
The annotation mode user interface while viewing a record in split screen is not user friendly and makes the annotation mode feature unusable. Previously, annotation mode allowed flexibility with collapsing the annotation pane, but now the annotation pane has a fixed width, which makes the record virtually nonfunctional.

Allow reports to have a direct URL
Enable users to link directly to a report when it has been created. This would be incredibly helpful when working collaboratively. Currently we have to describe which folder the report is in and provide a unique ID so they know which report to access. It would be so much easier to send a direct link to the report.
5 votesGood suggestion, we will monitor this, but also link it to the report enhancements for discussion during the report builder workshops to evaluate priority and impact

add level 1 id , level 2 id, and level 3 ids to list views / search criteria
It is onerous to build a report to find the common name (front end name, etc) for a eventid that you find in wf history (or otherwise). I'd love to search for level 1, 2, 3 ids in list views to prevent that extra step of building report just to find a field I can search on list view

Invitations - Ability to register new user under same org as Owner
While in an active SmS session, we can pass "&uselocalcompany=1" to the User Signup page URL to allow a new user to register under the session/record organization.
A similar variable/approach is missing when we send a Invite (Invitations Feature) to a new user, and the Signup page URL (Acceptance Redirect) is accessed outside an active SmS session.
Currently, if we want to invite a new user within the same Org on record, we have to configure an Org and User signup page. The new user will have to search and select the Org, and then fill in the User details…

Allow users to copy a system list view without needing edit access
I would like to be able to give users the ability to copy an existing system listview and save it as a personal listview.
Currently, a system list view can only be copied if a user has EDIT access to it. This access is only granted if you are a UTA Admin or a Global Admin.
My users are not system admins or UTA admins for Grant Manager, so they do not have the ability to EDIT or copy a system list view.
So, I would like users to be allowed to copy a system list view without needing edit…

Autoloaders - Field Change History
Field Change History should be logged whenever data is updated through Autoloader or by workflows triggered via Autoloader, to ensure a complete audit trail. Autoloader should include a configurable setting that enables Field Change History tracking, similar to the existing capability available through API functions.

Log Status changes triggered by a parent status trigger
Status Triggers are a powerful and underutilized feature in SmartSimple Cloud because they automatically keep parent and child records in sync without requiring workflow configuration. For example, when a Payment record is marked as Paid, related Disbursement records can automatically be updated to Paid as well.
One limitation is that status changes made through a Status Trigger are not currently logged or audited on the child record. This can create confusion for administrators and users who are reviewing record history, as it is not clear:
Why the status changed
Who or what initiated the change
Which parent record triggered the…2 votes -

System Filters Availability to non-Global Admins
Currently, non-Global Admins can only view Personal filters on UTAs/People/Org Filter dropdown. They can see and select the system filters on a list view.
Requesting an enhancement to make the system filters be role permission-based (Example: "Search Filters and Email Templates - Manager") and remove the global admin requirement.
Expected behaviour: System filters available to non-Global Admins under the Filter dropdown. See Attachment

Media Library processing message
We are having a lot of Media Library processing lags and messaging with 3 dots of “We're processing your media. Check back later.” continues to confuse applicants. Many think the files have not been uploaded and are contacting us with concerns and need for clarification.
Something like "Your file has been successfully uploaded. We're processing your media for in-system viewing. Check back later or download to view.” might be more clear.
2 votesIf we were to change the messaging perhaps something short to fit well inside the thumbnail. Example “Upload complete. We are processing your media.”

Add field name to T2P export page
Add field name as a field on the T2P export page so admins don't have to look across the system for the scope of changes being made.
1 voteFor custom fields, the unique field ID is surfaced. You can navigate to Global Settings > Custom Fields to locate the field. When you open it, the breadcrumb will show where it is located.
Being able to see the name of the field, task, or settings page as suggested would be helpful.
An alternative, we could also consider would be adding a button that lets you jump directly to the change in the system, providing full context for where the update occurred and allowing you to easily see how that item is configured.
