An error occurred while saving the comment Anna Wagner commentedThis is definitely needed. If you change any fund and then run a report for an earlier period, you have to manually edit the report info, which is not good for data integrity or consistency of presentation. Relying on a person to remember that a certain number of funds changed groups or subgroups after a certain period and then change what is generated from the system is not a reliable way to create reports, especially if you've had turnover.

This sounds like a great question for Compass! I have seen a lot of clients use Opportunities for this. You can create an opportunity for the profile and tie a fund beneficiary to the Opportunity. The Fund is created and added to a "legacy" fund group that can be moved once the estate gift is received.
The Opportunitiy is created (titled Bequest Expectancy - or similar) with the following stages:
- Open
- Bequest Documented
- Realization Notification
- In Process
- Closed

After review by our engineering team, we are moving this back to proposed. The school name populates if using Post by Payment. The reason it does not without that option is that the scholarship populates the fund statement on the post date, and the school is assigned on the payment lines, which could be later than the post date.

Having this be an option for the foundation to decide if they want an email sent or not would be ideal. We've had the same thing happen.
