Ability to sort Grant ID column
Currently we are able to sort all the columns in the Grants section, but we are unable to sort by Grant ID. At times I think it could be helpful to be able to sort by the ID number.

bulk mark grants complete
I like the idea that we can mark grants complete. It would be great if that screen was more user friendly and let you mark in bulk instead of one a time.

Display grants list within a recurring grant in chronological order
Display the grants issued within a recurring grant in chronological order OR add the ability to sort by each column.
7 votesIt is possible to sort the recurring grant list based on any of the columns. The list currently sorts by id, to turn it "off", click on the column until the arrow disappears. Then click on the header of any of the other columns to sort by that column.

rename 'grant cycle' field to 'grant catalog'
Anytime you process a grant, we noticed that the pay schedule and funding information would all of sudden disappear from the grant and we would have to reenter the information. Apparently, when you select an item from the 'grant cycle' drop-down before post/approval, it erases this data because it assumes you are using a 'grant catalog.' Why isn't that field called 'grant catalog' if that is actually what it is referring to? Since that field is called 'grant cycle' we have been using it to track what internal cycle that grant is associated with. Why are these labels different? And…
7 votes08-04-2023- Site: In order to align the terminology with the function, all references to Grant cycle have been changed to grant catalog.

Option to bulk set Grant Types, for previous grants that are inconsistent or incomplete.
Option to bulk set Grant Types, for previous grants that are inconsistent or incomplete.
7 votesReleased 6/2/23:
Grant Type: Added the ability to Set Grant Type in bulk from the left side menu in Grants and Grant Reports. In Grants, there is a new Set Grant Type options in Grant Actions. This is available in the New, Approval and Voucher Buckets. In Reports, this option is available for any Grant Report that includes a Grant ID. Selecting this option will open a list to select or update the grant type for each grant in the list.

Cancelling a historical grant (payment line)
We'd like to be able to cancel historical grants and their scheduled payments. We have scholarships that transferred over from our old system into Csuite as grants and we'd like to clean up our lists. They have installments that haven't been paid because the student quit attending school, and currently, when we click "cancel" next to the installment we receive a message that states "Can not cancel a historical payment line (maybe in the future)...."
7 votesYou should be able to cancel the historical scholarship payment lines. Reach out to support for steps top cancel these. Success@foundant.com

service area
Have the ability to get a report by service area that is attached to the fund. For example: be able to create a report by fund, by service area and see where the fund gave a grant to. Or at least be able to pull the data by service area in a download somewhere.

Interfund grant admin fees
We (usually) charge a fee to the fund receiving an interfund grant. Currently we have to calculate this manually and enter as a JE.

Add County field in profiles and grants
Add a County field under profiles. Also allow County to be entered with a grant. In the case of scholarships, we want to flag the student's county, not the county the college is in. We are a 5 county Community Foundation and our board likes to know where we are serving.

create spendables
When creating spendables where you have added a grantee beneficiary to funds. Can you please allow Fund names to be listed for users to select "By Fund" and not by a Group? Creating spendable by a group or groups makes it very confusing to work with as so many grants appear in the Grants/New bucket at the same time.
6 votes03/08/2024: Grants: Enhanced Spendable Grants to have checkboxes to all users to select which grants to create. This will allow users a more flexible workflow with spendable grants. (IDEA LAB LIVE)

ability to make grant documents shareable with fund advisors
I'm (finally!) loving the new process for generating grant documents (e.g., letters that we send with checks). Our Fund Advisors ask for copies of those letters to be uploaded via the portal so that they see exactly what the charity sees when the check arrives. (It also gives them comfort that we actually sent the check.) Currently, I scan each letter and attach it as a shareable PDF at the grant level. Now that the system automatically attaches the letter at the grant level, it would be great it I could simply mark that as shareable without having to upload…
6 votesThere is an option to share an attached a file to a grant. Attaching a file to a grant and then clicking Share will share the file with all fund advisors who have access to the Grants tab on the fund advisor portal and are advisors to the granting fund.

Create Spendable Grants with Primary Fund Advisor Auto Populated
Creating Spendable Grants leaves the Advisor field empty. When processing hundreds of grants at a time, this means that we have to go into each grant and assign an advisor so that the advisor name will show up in the grant letter. We would like to see this field auto populated with the Primary Fund Advisor. This will save a huge amount of time and energy!
6 votesThis was added on 6/2/2023:
Grants: The Primary Fund Advisor for a Fund will now be added as the Grant Advisor when creating a spendable grant.

Ability to Send to GLM from a custom grants report
It would be really useful to us to be able to Send to GLM from a custom report. This would allow us to filter by a custom field so that we could easily do a bulk Send to GLM and be assured that all of the intended grants get pushed to GLM and no unintended grants do.
6 votesThere is already an option in a grant custom report to send a grant(s) to GLM. After creating the report, selec the >Grant Actions drop down on left side menu.

Grant refunds should create adjusted amount on the same grant record.
When recording a grant refund, the system creates a new grant record that is negative rather than reducing the paid amount of the grant being refunded. If a payment is intended to be reissued, it would require the user to create a whole new grant entirely rather than just adding a new payment on the same grant. The fund advisor on the portal will then see the original grant, separate grant with a negative amount, and a new grant for the re-issuance. This is also inconsistent with how scholarship refunds are handled which reduces the scholarship paid amount and requires…

Add Fund Name to Grant Request Screen
When a fund advisor submits a grant request, the screen that is visible in the Grant Requests bucket does not list the fund name. It would be very helpful if the name of the fund that the advisor recommended the grant from was visible in this screen. We use the information from that request screen to proof new grants before they are posted and approved. It would really help to verify that grants have been made from the correct fund, as we have quite a few funds with very similar names.

Please allow grant letters in .doc by batch in new documents function please!
Looking forward to the new functionalities in December! However, PLEASE allow batches of grant letters in .doc format and not just .pdf. We have to tailor letters regularly and doing them piecemeal would be terribly inefficient, especially with this being new and at the busiest time of the year.
Thanks!

Check description and anonymous grants
Anonymous grants don't print or make available to print the description on the check stub. It would be most helpful if the description was able to be printed. Being anonymous should only be related to the fund making the grant not what the money is for.
5 votesThis is possible. You will want to add the {{grant_description}} in the foreach voucher section. Here is the link to template overviees. Also, feel free to reach out to support@foundant.com.https://support.foundant.com/hc/en-us/articles/4421436106903-Templates-Overview -
Create Spendable Grants
Allow the creation of grants from spendable by group and/or subgroup so its not an 'all or none' situation. Another idea would be to put checkboxes beside the grants before creating so we could pick and choose which ones we really wanted to create.
