  1. A system-wide floating support widget in SmartSimple to let users access help, knowledge bases and ticket forms (e.g. Zendesk, FreshDesk, Zoho) from anywhere in the platform.
Support requests would automatically include contextual data such as the grant, application or workflow step the user is viewing, dramatically improving ticket quality and resolution time.
This would create a smoother user experience, reduce email-based support burden and provide SmartSimple with a modern, flexible integration point that many customers can benefit from—especially now that SmartSimple is adopting Zendesk.

  2. After our first experience with the new T2P tool, we would like to suggest the implementation of the following enhancements:

    1. Pagination in "Changes Logged Against This Project"

The current page to view, select and manage the changes lacks pagination. This makes navigating large sets of changes difficult, especially when we need to manually select or unselect hundreds of changes.

Pagination would significantly improve usability and efficiency.

    1. Promoted indicator should be tied to ENVIRONMENT

We have noted several that the current behaviour is not ideal. The main suggestions would be:
--> The Promoted field should reflect the status of that change…

  3. SmartSimple should allow to enable other user roles to delete from the Message Queue without making them Global Administrators. This way other users will be able to delete emails that they accidentally triggered so that they won't be mistakenly sent out.

  4. It is critical and imperative for our work that the ability to choose different email addresses when using Email Templates/Group Email is implemented again (in the deprecated personal email settings). This has a major impact on the work that we do. We rely on this feature quite heavily. Without this feature we need to email stakeholders manually, which is taking a step back for us.

We recognize the need for flexibility in choosing email addresses beyond the default or the user’s own address when sending templates or group emails. While we would not reinstate the ability for individual users to set any “From” address as a personal preference, we are open to introducing an instance-wide setting that provides greater control and options for “From” addresses.

If this functionality is implemented, all email domains would need to align with the primary service in use. For example, users would not be permitted to send emails from unrelated domains such as Gmail or Amazon.

    • If not using SMTP relay: All addresses would need to use @smartsimplemailer.com or an equivalent domain based on client jurisdiction.
    • If using SMTP: The domain must match the one configured on the organization’s SMTP server.

  5. I would like to be able to give users the ability to copy an existing system listview and save it as a personal listview.

Currently, a system list view can only be copied if a user has EDIT access to it. This access is only granted if you are a UTA Admin or a Global Admin.

My users are not system admins or UTA admins for Grant Manager, so they do not have the ability to EDIT or copy a system list view.

So, I would like users to be allowed to copy a system list view without needing edit…

  6. The Dynamic Dropdown/Lookup Autocomplete field referencing Level 3 – Sub-Activities should include an option to filter results based on the selected Level 1 or Level 2 type.

    Example:
We have a Level 3 lookup field with “Enable Dynamic Content” enabled, which references Level 3 activities. Since the same Level 3 activities can be shared across multiple Level 1 and Level 2 types, there should be an option to filter the available Level 3 activities in the dropdown according to the selected Level 1 or Level 2 type.

  7. In the old version, our grant ID numbers would stay at the top of the screen as we scrolled down activity forms. Now they do not. I'd like this one feature to go back to the way it was. In the new look grant ID numbers should stay at the top of the screen as we scroll down the page.

  8. Currently, when a system is configured with a concurrent user limit to maintain optimal performance, users attempting to log in during peak usage receive a message indicating high traffic and are asked to try again later. However, users have no visibility into when they might be able to log in, as they cannot tell when others have logged out.

To improve this experience, we propose implementing a queue system like those used by ticketing platforms or high-traffic websites. This would allow users to:

    • See how many people are ahead of them in the login queue.

    • Automatically gain access…

  10. When we review our staff contacts in the CRM, there is no way to see in the list view whether we have added an expiry date or not. We have to open each individual to check. The Support team told me I cannot add the expire date field as a column to the list view using list syntax.

The expire date is accessed by going into the contact and clicking on Actions (top menu) > Edit Roles and Access.

It would help to be able to quickly tell if a user has an associated expiry date on their role access.…

  11. Improve Lists display by adding the possibility to freeze the first row of column titles
Such as in Excel : add the prossibility to freze the first row of a list to keep the right column title on top when we scroll down

  12. The ability to export the custom field list from L1, L2 or L3, users, orgs or any system object, with settings such as mandatory toggle, description, select values, and including the role, status, and type permission settings, into Excel, or the ability to build a report builder report where you can customize the settings to be exported. The system design summary pulls some of this data into a word table format, which can be copied into Excel, but it is cumbersome and only copies from the core fieldset. Being able to export directly and easily from the custom field list…

  13. We will like to add additional fields to our charity search database, as well as additional filters to control how the listing in sites. Additionally, we need to enable data export from the search database in manageable chunks or allow us to query on on the existing data.

  14. Add an ability to train AI to recognize the document we are requesting. Applicants can then get a warning that it doesnt look like they are uploading the correct document, and flag it for reviewers.

The next step would be to use AI to scan the uploaded documents for data and then use that data in the application without the user having to reenter information.

  15. With the Smart Simple October 2025 Update to the Rich Text Editor, the window is no longer resizable.

The specific field type for the Rich Text Editor is: Special - Rich Text. It would be ideal if the window has the ability to be resized both vertically and horizontally.

An example of text windows that are fully adjustable are those with the "Text Box - Text Multiple Lines" field type, and the Width is set to "Full" under the display options (Width), allows for both horizontal and vertical adjustment

  16. It would be very useful to have a separate reporting database or the ability to replicate the database for reporting purposes.

For us this could be useful to have a data lake that could be used externally like with Power BI. We currently run many very complex reports using SmartConnect API's against our live instance (because they are too complex for the built-in reports).
This can cause major slowdowns in the live system with some of our more intense reports.

There was a suggestion regarding AI insights where John Fulton suggested a data lake. It would be great if we…

  17. On the L2 view within the L1, there are two scroll bars on the right and then a bottom scroll bar below all the L2s. if there are many L2s on the list, one would have to scroll all the way down to move the scroll bar to the right. It would be nice to have the bottom scroll bar be static on the page.

  18. Whenever I emulate a user, all of my tabs within SmartSimple disappear and I'm reset back to my default home page. I need to be able to flip quickly between emulating and making changes, and not need to open multiple new tabs and navigate back to where I was.

  19. We'd like to use the status group names in the status indicator on L1 for internal users, but we don't want the group name to show to those users across the system in all list views, etc. - there are other places where they need to see the granularity. The use case for the status group name in the status indicator is to get a quick, high-level understanding of the phase of our process the record is in. In list views, etc. the same users typically need to see the exact status more granularly in other places for different reasons.
