applicant grant history
I just added a new contact to an organization and assigned their request to that person. I then checked the username and password for the new contact by logging in to her account. I noticed that all she could see was the current request (LOI, Application, and Follow-Ups). I think everyone who is an active contact for that organization should see all prior requests.

decision comments
Make decision comments a merge field.
We use the decision comments as a place to store language for the notification letters. I'm so over the copy and paste!7 votes -
Show a follow up as "locked" when applicants have another follow up to complete prior
When an applicant has multiple follow ups they have an option of "edit" on the follow up they are working on, and the other follow up's options are blank. I get a lot of questions about why an applicant cant complete their follow up (when they have one due prior).
I think it might be helpful to have that say something like "locked". Then perhaps have the info "i" icon to tell them why they cant access the follow up.

Ability to edit List Items
It would be great to be able to edit a single list item. We have new funds created throughout the year that we need to add to a drop down list on a decision form after that form and question has already been used. On occasion, we've had human error occur with a typo or having been assigned a duplicate fund ID by mistake. Have the opportunity to go in an correct the spelling error or edit the name of an item part way through the year on a drop down list would be helpful.

retain search list
It would save several clicks if the search was retained, and could be accessed by clicking the back arrow after selecting an item from the search. It would be even better if you place in the list was retained and you were automatically returned to that position.

Make the Apply option more visible on the applicant dashboard.
New applicants are seeking the apply option when they log in the first time. While the new format for the dashboard makes other navigation clearer, the Apply gets lost in the navigation bar at the top of the page. Suggest making the Apply option larger and bolded so it's more visible.

Applicant Status Dashboard
I find "Undecided" to be a confusing status label for applicants. Might you consider "under review" instead?

Allow emails to be used on more than one user profile when there are no user roles defined.
We have users who only have one email address that may serve as primary contact for one organization and an applicant for another. It used to be that duplicate emails were allowed in the system if no user roles were selected. I'd love to have that ability added back in. We keep track of primary contacts on every account and these people often do not have any user roles, we are just keeping track of their contact information.

Give users an error message when they enter access codes incorrectly
It would help users who type in access codes incorrectly if the system gave an error message rather than just returning to the same screen. Without an error message, they don't know they have the code wrong.

Apply page
Challenge: at most times of the year, we have between 3 and 5 processes "open" at 1 time. Some of our applicants do not realize we have several grant rounds open and do not scroll to find the correct process. They click the first apply button that they see and fill out the incorrect application! Idea: would it be possible to have the Available process have 1 line (like the dropdown in the application) so that 5 or 6 processes would show at 1 time; the applicant would click to open the drop-down description, and reveal the preview and apply…

provide the ability to deactivate organizations
We have had a few grantees shut down their organizations. I have deactivated most of the users, but the Primary user cannot be deactivated. I would prefer those names not show up when I search or run reports for Active Users.
I would still want to be able to access the grant/funding histories of deactivated orgs. Thanks!1 vote -
Easier path from Preview back to Apply
If an applicant enters a code to apply, then decides to Preview an application first, when they are done previewing, they have to click on Apply and enter the code again. It would be be easier if there were a way for them to go back to the apply button without having to repeat the steps. Some of our applicants have gotten confused by this.

Create an "About" section for an organization that is not visible to the organization.
Our due diligence process involves an external evaluation by program officers. We grant to many of the same organizations each year, so these evaluations are updated, but the base information remains the same. We don't want to use the evaluation tool as part of the process, because it isn't very accessible once the cycle is over, and our board shouldn't have to "dig" for information. It is also a lot of work to "re do" each year. We would love to be able to customize an "About" section in the organization profile that could be updated each year.
4 votesHello,
This could be accomplished through our pinned comment functionality or through an internal organization custom field. If you reach out to our success team they can talk you through these options.

Add import capability from Guidestar
If an organization isn't in my system and I use the link to Guidestar to look up their EIN and address, etc, I'd like to have the opportunity to click a button that says "Would you like to add this organization to your database?" rather than having to write down all the info and type it all in.

Email merge from Foundant
It would be great to have the capability to execute an email merge for our decision notifications from within Foundant. Currently we have to generate a data set from Foundant and use that data set externally in Word to do an email merge.

Applicant Dashboard Organization
As well as using Foundant GLM as an Administrator, I use it as an applicant. Several of the foundations I apply to use Foundant, which is great. One thing I don't like is the Applicant's Dashboard page. One community foundation in the area is the "mother" to 12 others, and I have applied to 6 of these as well as the "mother" foundation. My dashboard is a cluttered mess of applications in several different stages. Yes, they are arranged in order of application date, but that's the only organization there is. I only have 1 year's worth of applications (11…

Add Applicant's name to third party email "Subject"
Add the Applicant's name to the third party email "Subject" line. This will be especially useful for guidance counselors who receive multiple (sometimes tens of) emails. It will make it much easier for our third party responders to organize their responses.
6 votesThis can be accomplished by adding the Applicant Name Merge field to the subject line when customizing the template. If you have questions contact support@foundant.com

Change question type
I could see a situation where I create a question of a certain type, and then realize later that I want to make that same question a different type. (The first thing that comes to mind is making a radio box a check box, or vice versa.) Right now, I have to create a new question, rather than just changing the existing question.

is it possible to in the future be able to add batch installments
How our system is set up, we approve a grant for 4 years, and we pay on a grant monthly. After those 4 years a recipient can renew their grant for another 4 year term. If approved it can take quite a long time to add 48 installments to each new renewal. adding batch installments would be very helpful for us. Could this be possible in the future?
