  1. Currently, there does not appear to be a way for C-Suite to generate information in a tax receipt that includes confirmation of the set up of a recurring gift if a donor sets this up online. So, there is no communication generated to the donor thanking them for their recurring gift. Instead, they only receive the standard email/tax receipt acknowledging the current gift.

    If we wanted to send a communication to our donors acknowledging the details of the recurring gift (how often, amount, end date etc.), we would have to send emails manually. I am concerned about the extra steps…

    Recurring donation fields were added to the tax receipt template on 1/26/24:  

    Templates: Added the Recurring donation fields to the Tax Receipt Template{{recurring.description}}, {{recurring.end_date}}, {{recurring.end_date_iso}}, {{recurring.interval}}, {{recurring.next_date}},{{recurring.next_date_iso}} , {{recurring.rc_donation_id}} , {{recurring.start_date}}, {{recurring.start_date_iso}} 

  2. Some of our donors would like to stipulate an end period for their donation. This would be specifically helpful for us internally as we have a giving circle that allows for members to pay in installments for their membership (i.e., $125 / quarter for a annual membership of $500)

    Released 1/4/2024:

    Journal Entries: Added the ability to add Recuring Journal Entries. From Journal Entries, select Recurring. Users will then see a table of Recurring Journal Entries that have been created. This table will show the Entry Start, End, Next Dates along with the Interval, Monthly, Quarterly, Annual, Fund Name, Entry Description, Amount, and the Employee that created the Entry. In the left-side menu, there is now an option to Create Journal Entries and Add Recurring. The Create Journal Entries will allow users to process the Recurring Journal Entries. Add Recurring will allow users to create a new Recurring Journal Entry. Users will set the Interval, Start Date, Next Date, End Date, Description, and then complete the Fund Entry information. The Create Journal Entries will turn red in color if there are Journal Entries that need to be created. This would happen if the Recurring Journal Entry is Next…

  4. As an LGBTQ organization, we're dismayed that there is only a "male/female" option under "sex" instead of this being labeled as "gender" and allowing more choices, such as GNC (gender non-conforming) trans, etc.

  5. We very much like that we can generate and send the tax receipt letters out by email from within CSuite.

    However, the pdf letter that gets generated and attached to the email has a long strange filename which can be concerning for some wary of files with viruses. The filename looks something like 92b81c76-8015-4099-a6b8-11d8beddb983.pdf.

    Can the filename be made to be something that is more recognizable? i.e. DonorTaxReceipt

    5/26/2023: Templates: Updated the tax receipts email to show read as Donation Receipt and Donation Date. The Subject Line of the email will read the same Donation Receipt and Donation Date. For example, Donation Receipt 05/26/2023 Also, added the email for donors on the the tax receipt table when processing tax receipts. 

  6. Please make transaction logs available for every type of transaction (included deleted) that show user, date, transaction number and action taken. I had a deposit deleted and cannot find out who did it (it was a mistake I'm sure). Every accounting program I have worked with has some sort of running record that shows who did what and when. It's an excellent tool when building roles for access and for auditing.

When running a report of profiles for Fund Representatives, Fund Advisors, Interested Parties, Fund Founders etc...we need to have a field in the report that shows the Fund Name that those profiles are associated with. When you look at an individual profile the associated Fund Name is listed. The exported report includes many fields of lesser used data so including the Fund Name should not be that difficult to add.

  9. Currently, if a check run has both electronic and check grants, every grant letter is printed when you click print grant letters and every grant letter is emailed when you click email grant letters.
    It would be great if the system only emailed grant letters for grants that are being paid electronically, and only printed grant letters for the grant s being paid by check.
    Alternatively, another set of buttons could be added to "Email grant letters - electronic" and "Email grant letters - checks", etc so that folks can still get letters for the full check run if needed.

    Templates for Grant & Scholarship Letters: Moved the processing of Grant & Scholarship letters from the check area. This will allow program staff the ability to create grant and scholarship letters separate from the creation of checks. There is now a documents bucket in grants and scholarships. Letters will still be grouped by check batch so that clients can easily print or email letters in bulk. If the check batch is unposted, it will remove the batch from the documents bucket. If clients, recreate a check both letters will attach to the grant/scholarship. When emailing grant/scholarship letters, the email address will pull from the primary email on the profile. The grant and scholarship letters will now attach to the grant or scholarship record once produced.

  10. When I drill down on a number in a financial report (income statement, for example), if any transactions exist in a sub-account included in that number, those transactions are not included in the drill down detail that appears. The detail that appears should agree to the number in the original financial report.

    The ability to search existing profiles when submitting a name in the box: "Whom to Notify". Currently, when we type a name here, it generates a new profile, even if the individual is already in our system.

  12. At this time you can only mark a profile as "deceased" if they are not active. This is not always the case in a living situation. Since donors may not have given donations in a while, you should be able to indicate their profile as "inactive."

  13. Many of our campaigns are made up of households or organizations that don't include individual profiles so the campaign is not able to give us a true RSVP or Attended count. We are forced to maintain a separate sheet for an accurate head count.

    4/5/2023: Campaigns:  Enhanced the campaign workflow to help with the tracking of events and mailings.  Each campaign will now be associated by type.  Campaign types are event, marketing or historical.  The assigned type will drive different campaign functionality.  A campaign categorized as events, will allow a user to create tickets, groups, and requests for the campaign.  Marketing will be used if the campaign is intended to create a mailing list to communicate with donors and other constituents.  Historical will be a way to move completed campaigns into a separate list for campaigns that are no longer being used by the foundation.  Campaigns will still be managed by user defined categories and can be archived within the category list.  The campaign page has been redesigned to have a bucket system just below the event information and image at the top of the page. Each bucket will then trigger different left hand…

  14. It would be great to have the ability to freeze the fund names on the left hand "name" column when bulk editing funds. Currently when you scroll to the right you lose the names of the funds you are trying to edit and it's really difficult to complete edits.

    This was released on 12/7/2022.  Here is the release note:  


    1099: Enhanced the 1099 reporting by adding a new 1099 menu allowing clients to create 1099 MISC and NEC reports. Clients can export the report for 1099 processing outside of CSuite. The report uses the 1099 code from the account on the paid expense to determine the 1099 designation. We will be removing the e-file functionality from CSuite, since many clients are handling this process when creating 1099 within another system. This now has a new permission.

  16. It would be very useful to have a COPY function when creating gifts. Many times a batch of gifts is received on the same date, going to the same fund, so we'd just have to update the donor name & amount. This was available in FIMS and saves alot of time.

    Donations: Enhanced donations with the ability to copy a donation once you select process. All fields are copied except for  payment method, check number and donation date, which will default to today as normal donation form functionality. Donation Advisor is not copied because advisor is not set on a donation during initial entry. If it is an internal donation, the internal donation status will not be copied, instead it will just be a normal donation.  Historical is not copied, so historical donations will get copied in as real donations that impact the general ledger.

  17. Add "Title" field below "Mailing Label" on profiles so that letters will pull the title for the address block. For example:

    Ms. Jane Doe
    President (<-- add this field!)
    Food Pantry
    123 Main Street
    City, St 11234

  18. Many profiles - civic leaders, or organizational profiles such as grantees - may not be donors or fund advisors, but are part of campaigns which represent a relationship or opportunity. Making invited campaigns visible for those profiles shows at a glance whether they received an invitation, a newsletter, the annual report, or a solicitation, etc. Currently we can't see that without going through a lot of extra work through the campaigns - but if Csuite is truly a relational database able to do segmented and targeted "opportunity" marketing, then this feature has to be incorporated to display important partnership relationships…

  19. When you select Gift and/or Grant Notify from the portal, the auto message is not editable and does not look like it's actually coming from our Foundation. It would be helpful to make this an editable template.

  20. Currently you are able to set Org roles as inactive or active, but it is not reportable. This means when a report is built to list those associated with the org roles, it shows all profiles with no way of sorting the ones that are currently active. It would be great if we could filter by whether or not that are active, or how some indication (like italics) that show the difference.
