  1. Please STOP the system from resorting journal entries by amount. At the very least, have the all the data necessary in custom reports so the data can be sorted in the entry order for review,

When users create journal entries there is usally is a method to the order they are entered but for some reason the system re-sorts the entries by dollar value before posting. This makes it difficut to review the entries and makes them harder to follow if researching them.

  2. Right now, we can search by GL account number in the search bar but it would be great if we could search by account name. Is it possible to add that functionality?

  3. Please add this option to the Journal Entry menu as an action on the left hand task bar. From an accounting perspective, we often use the "Import" function for Journal Entries each month as all information is compiled in an external Excel/CSV file and formatted after completion to import and save time. These imports split into dozens of journal entries separated by fund. Currently, we have to manually go into each individual entry and attach the same Excel workbook for documentation entry by entry.

A bulk "Attach File" option would save significant time and make repetitive tasks much more efficient.

  4. When someone donates with a credit card and agrees to pay the processing fee (we use Stripe), the PDescription language that shows up in the ledger states "Cover creditcard fee". Creditcard is misspelled. It should be "credit card". My suggestion is to change that hard coding.

  6. Currently, journal entries are displayed sorted by debit and credit values, which makes it difficult to review and approve entries efficiently.

When comparing entries against the entry spreadsheet, which lists them in the order of journal entry ID, the current sorting method disrupts the sequence and increases the likelihood of oversight or error. This misalignment between the system view and the entry format complicates the review process and slows down approvals.

    Requested Change:
Please update the journal entry review interface to list entries by journal entry ID by default, rather than by debit/credit values. Alternatively, providing a sorting option that…

  7. Right now when I import Journal Entries, it combines random entries with the same date. It isn't even all one date, there could be two or three. We need these to all be separate as they're different deposits, different payment methods, etc. Grouping them makes reconciliation incredibly difficult.

  8. It would be great if journal entry approval worked like voucher approval by auto-advancing to the next je requiring approval!

  9. It would be helpful if month-end close could be broken down so we could close by the transaction type (ie donations, grants, vouchers, general ledger) or even by division. There are some areas that Finance wants to close ASAP to prevent back-dated transactions by other departments, but other areas that need to remain open for entries by Finance. The current all-or-nothing approach forces us to keep the period open, which means transactions (often grants) can post incorrectly into a past month. Please consider the functionality to allow for piecemeal closes instead of one all-encompassing.

  10. When in General Ledger looking up the detail a specific account, it would be helpful if the "Account" field had a clickable drop-down list of all general ledger accounts. This would prevent the user from having to type in the account number. Many times the user does not know, or has forgotten, the account number they are looking for and a drop down would be beneficial in helping to find this.

  11. I would love a Deprecation Schedule module in Community Suite! Currently, we pay our auditors to track our fixed assets and we could purchase software, but it would be great to have it integrated. Thanks for considering!

  12. Would really like to be able to process payroll through CommunitySuite, either by adding a payroll module to the system or by integrating CommunitySuite with a payroll solution so that would automatically push over the JEs they need to account for payroll each pay period.

  13. When doing a lookup in General Ledger for a specific account, it would be beneficial if there were an option to 'save' lookup parameters so users don't have to keep entering the same search criteria multiple times. For example, 90% of the time I am reviewing transactions in only a few GL accounts for the current month's date range. Every time I do this, I have to re-enter the account and date criteria which wastes a lot of time. It would be helpful to be able to save these search criteria and just select these from a list of saved…

  14. In order to track our commitments, we would like to use GLM and have it sync to CS. The advantage to using it in GLM instead of recurring grants in CS, is that we can refer back to the commitment to see the awarded amount, what has been paid, and what is left to pay. The problem is, if it is a multi year commitment, when created, the total amount will hit the GL. We would only want the $ amount to hit the GL as it is being paid, not the full amount in the 1st year. Can this…
