  1. Permissions Audit Capability or Report? Permissions definitions?

    We have just gone into our second year using CSuite and are ready to take a hard look at Permissions. We are finding we would rather have 'departmental' user groups than just the default distinction between Accounting and Staff that was set up at implementation. We have just been granting specific permissions on the fly, as staff run into tasks they are unable to complete, and would like to re-establish a controlled structure.

    We are running into a few hurdles as we try to approach this project, specifically:

    1: there aren't any good definitions on WHAT each permission actually does…

  2. Sandbox Permissions

    When training new staff, we like to give them full permissions in the sandbox site so they can access everything and more easily see how their role fits in with other parts of our processes. However, every time we sync the sandbox site, these permissions are overwritten by our staff's more limited permissions in the live site. It would be great if there was a setting that would allow us to keep full permissions in the sandbox site even after syncing it. Thanks for considering!

  3. File Category Restrictions/Permissions

    Currently, most of our users do not have access to journal entries in CSuite; however, if they go into the "Files" section, they are able to open the journal entry support that was attached to the JE that they could not access. Due to the sometimes sensitive information, it would be beneficial if we could choose who has access to which file category or if the file is attached to a process/area of CSuite that the user does not have access to, their access to the attached files should also be restricted.

  4. permissions in custom reports

    I have not found a custom report that will show me all the groups and their each group's permissions.

    It would be helpful if we could have such a report to see all the permissions in one place instead of having to go to each section.

  5. Fund Advisor Permissions for Email/Phone - Advisor Option - not System Wide

    It would be great to update System Data options so it allows you to "turn on" permissions to some fund advisors so they can access email/phone on the Donor Portal instead of only allowing all the funds to see it or not.

  6. bulk edit fund advisor permissions

    I really would like to see bulk edit capabilities on the Fund Advisor page. We can currently set all or nothing which in theory is nice, but I have fund advisors with different permissions. So if I turn them all off to do what needs to be done, they don't "restore" when I turn them back on. Which means then I have to back through every single fund advisor who didn't have permission for notifications turned on to begin with and turn them all off again. (which is a very time consuming endeavor)

  7. "select all" tab permissions in fund portal setup?

    It would be awesome to have a "select/deselect all" button when adding the funds to a fund advisor portal. I currently have to check each very small box to turn tabs on and off for each fund. Many of our 300+ affiliates have 10-20 funds and fund advisors come and go every day.

  8. Make Donations Edit, Create, and Delete permissions more granular

    The update, below, from November 2020, got us part of the way - but we could really use much more specificity with Edit, Create, and Delete permissions on individual Donations.

    5. Updated adding a donation advisor to a donation to only require the edit permission. This process previously required both the edit and create donation permissions.



    As a central finance office that processes all gifts, for 9 affiliate Foundations, we simply can't give all field staff full Create or Delete permissions in Donations - but that means we also can't allow them to go in an edit/add Campaign…

  9. General Ledger Last Close Date Permissions

    Our foundation recently narrowed permissions around opening and closing the books. Since fewer people now have access to the open and close books area of CSuite, these staff can no longer see the last close date. It would be great if staff without permission to open and close the books could still see the last close date. Thanks for considering!
