The ability to create a pledge and post a pledge are currently separate permissions in the advanced permissions.

  2. When a fund is marked 'private' to not show in the fund listing on the donation portal, still allow for the fund to be granted from in the fund advisor portal.

We have fund holders who would like to make an internal grant from one of their 'private' funds but aren't given this option because the fund is marked 'private'.

Please unlink the ability to request a grant from a 'private' fund on the advisor portal from the 'private' indicator on the fund as it is still desired to not have the fund appearing on the donation page fund list.

    This was released on 1/27/2025:

    • Portal - Fund Advisor: A logged in fund advisor will now be able to donate to a private fund when selecting donate from the Portal. Private funds will display in alphabetical order before promoted funds.

  3. As donor services, I work often with our DAF individuals who struggle using the portal. It is so important that we can "login as" them so we can talk them through creating a grant or how to add a gift to their DAF. I have donors tell me what they're seeing on their screen and ask me if they did their grant right. I can't see it unless I go to the List Cart in Fund Advisors and there, if they add any information in the Special Instructions, that information isn't on List Cart. And I can only see their…

To login as a fund advisor in the new portal, you must go to the login as tab on the main profile. There is a login as option in the left menu from that tab. Because of a change to profiles and enhanced security, this will log you out of CSuite as a User. You can login as in an incognito window, that will not log you out.

  4. With new upgrade for reporting, I noticed income statement by month changed, now the oldest month data is at the last column and the newest month data is at the first column. Is there way can modify the report setting by having the newest month data at last and the oldest data at the first? Thanks!

We followed AICPA standards on presentation of columns from newest to oldest period. If you select Print there is an option to reorder columns (or remove them).

  5. Navigation -- it would be great if Profiles and Reports could be accessed from the Main Menu, across the top of the page, rather than only on the home page.

It is possible to update the items in the top navigation menu. The items would display for all users for your site. Please contact support to update the top navigation bar.

  6. I am not sure if this is a profiles issue, but when a donor puts in a credit card donation but does not put in the exact name or address as is in the system, a duplicate profile is created. Is there a way for the system to recognize the email address (this does not change) that is put into the system for the donation and acknowledge that it is from the same person who already has a donor profile in Foundant? If this can occur, duplicate profiles can be minimized.

In order to reduce the number of duplicates there the following options in Profile>Settings:

    • Profile Dedupe - Match Name - If checked, name is used when profiles are being merged or created as the result of online transactions.
    • When none of the three Profile Dedupe options are selected, the system uses all three variables when determining if a profile is a duplicate.
    • Profile Dedupe - Match Email - If checked, email is used when profiles are being merged or created as the result of online transactions.
    • When none of the three Profile Dedupe options are selected, the system uses all three variables when determining if a profile is a duplicate.
    • Profile Dedupe - Match Phone - If checked, phone is used when profiles are being merged or created as the result of online transactions.

  7. On the old portal, when our fund advisors go into their DAF we were able to add a tab (Partner Agency Needs List) which would lead to the grant catalog. Is it possible to have the ability to add that to the new portal?

The current option says NOTE: There are additional giving opportunities. Click here to give. It would be fantastic if we could change the wording there or add it to the left side under Donations.

1/30/2025: Portal - Grant Request: Removed the reference to "NOTE: There are additional giving opportunities. Click here to give" when an active grant catalog exists. This remains unchanged in the legacy Fund Advisor Portal.

There is a content block for this page that can include a hyperlink to a grant catalog page.

  8. If a fund is set to hide donation amounts from fund advisors, then the entire amount column should be hidden on the donations tables, rather than just empty.

  9. Currently in the new fund advisor & donor portals, the Fund Name is displayed on the Donation Summary Chart. This should be the Public Name as we use internal references on the Fund Name.

    • Portal - Fund Advisor: Updated the Grant Request and Grant History to display Fund Public Name (Fund Name if Fund Public Name is null) for internal grants instead of the foundation name. This will align with the other tabs using the fund name instead of the foundation name.

  10. Leading up to the new year, when we are setting our budget for next year, it would be ideal for us to be able to generate a report that will compare the two years and show current year actuals as well. I can export an income statement for the current year with the budget option and then in Excel combine that with our next year budget, but I'd like it to be a built in feature in the budgeting module.

12-13-2024:Financials: Added YTD Budget with Prior Year actual to Edit Options on the Income Statement. This report will show the date range of the report in the actual column, budget for the date range, YTD Actual, YTD, Budget, YTD difference, Year Actual, Difference, and Prior Year Actual.

  11. Somehow, when I just ran a quarterly income statement since 2000, the most recent quarter showed up in the most left-hand column. NOT HELPFUL! Please rearrange so that the oldest period appears first so that proper flow appears and analysis can be done, AND it can be shared with the donor who can more easily understand the real-world activity of their fund and not a funky audited-financial-based view. I've not seen this before; someone must have thought they were 'helpful' but, sadly, no - especially for anything longer than 1 quarter. (OR please provide a toggle to allow one view…

Because we know that all foundations present their financials differently, a new print option has been added. This will allow you to determine the order of the columns. The recommended presentation per the AICPA is most recent column first. That is why financials default to newest period first.

  12. PLEASE consider including all accounts in balance sheet and income statement reports. The condensed view is nice on screen but it would be infinitely more helpful either to see them, or at least to have them export as zeros. It would save so much time in multi-fund reporting to accurately copy and paste columns of figures including zeros and unused accounts knowing they would all land in their respective cells in a spreadsheet containing the full GL. If this functionality exists, please let me know how to produce it!

12/16/2024:Financials: Added two new options in the Edit Options on several of the financial reports. This will be the ability to Include Zero Balances and Include Closed Accounts. When Including Closed Accounts users will also want to show Include Zero Balances.

These options will not be available when using Financial Views or on these financial reports: Audit Report, Fund Balance, Audit Balances, Underwater Report, Functional Expense, Investment Report, or the Inception Report.

  13. I would love the ability to have both monthly and YTD figures on a single report, as this is the preference of my Board. Currently, the only way to achieve this is to run two separate reports, export them as csv, then merge them together. This works okay-ish so long as both reports have the same account line items, otherwise the raw data doesn't line up. THere is also a fair amount of formatting involved.

Any way to be able to pull monthly and YTD income figures together?

    • 12/4/2024:Financials: Updated the printing of Financials. This update will allow users to add headers and footer content to printed financial statements along with customizing report titles and columns. In Financials, users will find Content in the left-side menu. This will allow for financial_publish_header and financial_publish_footer. These content areas will be html compatible with the following merge fields: report date, title (this will pull the title from the Financials Settings), filter values, report timestamp, and report title. Settings is also a new left-side menu that will allow users to rename their reports. For example, Balance Sheet can be changed to Statement of Financial Position. When processing a financial report, users will see a new left-side menu option called Publish. Print will be a print option with the header and footer content areas added. Print will remove all lines on the report and it will print on a white background.…
  14. We love that fundholders can edit grants in the donor portal. However, I learned today that fundholders cannot edit a recurring grant if there is no max recurrence #.

This means that we misspoke when we told our fundholders that they can edit all their recurring grants. Not great. Please fix this so they can make updates to all recurring grants in our system! (We have over 100!).

This issue was resolved on 11/25/2024:

Portal-Fund Advisor: Resolved an issue with recurring grants unable to edit if no max occurrence is set. Updated recurring grants on creation to not allow more than 1000 occurrences. This aligns with the backend logic in CSuite.

    • 1/15/2025: Giving Hub: Updated the checkout workflow to replace Donor Information label with Your Information and removed the description label above the cart listed items. Added asterisks to required fields for donors in checkout workflow. Updated the telephone field with the ability to accept international phone numbers.

  16. In the giving hub the funds that are promoted are listed in alphabetical order. When fund advisors are logged in and switch to the giving hub to donate to heir fund(s), their funds are organized in that promoted list in alphabetical order. A fund advisors funds should show up first, not mixed into the list of promoted funds, so that they can easily identify their funds and make a gift. Because many funds start with 'The' their fund tends to be listed lower.

  17. We really would appreciate the ability to show closed fund activity on the portal. It’s often extremely important for our donors to see historical information, even when a fund is no longer being used. If closed funds can’t be shown there, could CSuite provide an ability to merge Funds, similar to the ability to merge Profiles?

Let me provide a little background: Our foundation’s process is to close a fund when the type of the fund changes (i.e. passthrough to endowed). Being able to show the history of the gifts/grants in the fund advisor portal would allow our fund holders…

2/6/2025:Portal - Fund Advisor: Added an new setting to display closed funds on the portal. This new setting can be enabled in Portal Options>Portal Settings>Fund Advisor>Edit Fund Advisor. When enabled, a logged in fund advisor will see funds that are closed. On the main fund page, closed funds will display with a "closed" label in red. When the closed fund is selected, there is a display at the top of the fund summary page "This fund is closed".

  18. We would love to have the option to disable the legacy portal when we enable the New Donor Portal. There are many issues with both of them being live at the same time, including how the content for the Portal maps to both portals. We put detailed instructions for fundholders in the content area and now the Legacy portal is incredibly unprofessional because the instructions are wrong. While we hope none of our fundholders navigate to the Legacy portal, we suspect many of them have the URL bookmarked on their computer. It's not a good look for us and we…

    • 10/25/2024: Portal Options-Portal Settings: Added a Redirect Legacy Fundadvisor Portal Login option on the Settings table. This will allow organizations the flexibility to work setup of the Portal and redirect the fund advisors to the new login when they are ready to start using the new Portal pages.

  19. It would save time and be more efficient if households could be added to the list of drop-down advisors when creating grant requests. Currently, I have to search the individual profile, at times the fund profile, to see if there's an associated household. Then, I have to copy and paste the name into the search bar or type it in. This can take up considerable time if CSuite is running slowly as usual.

It would help improve workflow and reduce margin for errors if households could be added to funds as options for grant advisors.

All fund advisor profiles will be included in the drop down if they are set up as fund advisors and associated with a fund. Simply set the household as a fund advisor without any login information and it will become a dropdown option.

There is currently an option to edit a note (you must have this permission). Just select the note id and an option to edit is available in the left hand menu.
