Checking in followups
Our staff have different responsibilities when checking in Quarterly follow up forms. The first step is a budget and expenditure review. It then goes to different staff person who reviews the narrative portions of the report. Right now, we keep an excel form and check off when the financial is reviewed and ready for narrative review. It would be nice to see online when the financial is done and the follow up is ready to move on for the narrative review.
2 votesThank you so much for taking the time to share your idea in the Idea Lab. We genuinely value your input and creativity. After reviewing engagement levels across all submitted ideas, we’ve decided to archive this particular idea. Double check that one wants a grant abandoned
I have experienced a glitch where a grant which has a payment attached to it was marked abandoned. It would be great if when the word abandoned is clicked that you have to also type the word abandon in all capital letters.

Adjust the internal process visibility
For internal processes, there are still some things that an applicant can view. They will see the Process Name and Project Name... even if all questions are internal.
Here are a few recommended adjustments:
1. Not let an applicant view any of the information.
2. Allow them to see the Process Name but not the Project Name.
3. If no changes can be made to what the applicant views, then change the visibility option in the Project Name question in the process. Right now I have selected the visibility is "Internal", but our applicants can see this! Yikes! It's misleading.…2 votesThanks for your time in the idea lab.

Board Track for Summit
I encourage you to include a Board track in the next summit. Sessions geared toward the Board Chair or other designee would be very helpful in general to the Foundations and also Board members. Perhaps you can make it free for one Board member with every paid Foundation employee. Not just technical, but that is needed, but also how to use the data collected, but to also help with expectations from Board to staff.

Undecided grants showing $0 granted in history
I just had a call from a grantee hoping to find out the status of his proposal. The grant is still undecided in the system, but he got worried when he saw $0 under 'Granted' in his organization history. It's a small thing, but is there a way to make undecided grant amounts a dash ( - ) or something other than a 0? Thanks!

Create a column to view grant amount
When viewing hundreds of current-year grant requests at different locations on my dashboard, I need more information at-a-glance (extra columns) including: grant amount, and geo-location. I do not need to know applicant name or due date at-a-glance.The report feature is great for past year grants, but for current year requests, I REALLY need more information available at-a-glance.
Another note: With recent upgrades it is now harder to see grant amount, I have to click on request and then click on award details. Too much clicking to get to key information. I miss the grant amount on the main request page…

Code processes, and allow multi-select by code
We have grant processes, or programs, which recur every year. There is currently no way in the system to link those processes. Our suggestion is two-fold: (a) allow us to add a "code" or "type" to each process, and then (b) allow us to pull processes by code/type. This would show up in the Select Processes pop-up on the dashboard - maybe above the "available" and "archived" boxes - a "Select All Processes Type" box.
To get more technical - it would be really great if we could also add a "closed" status to a process. That could be a…

Change the Matching Percent question.
When selecting Matching for the type of grant in the approval stage, the Matching Percent field has caused confusion for our foundation.
Our staff defines our matching grants as 1:1 or 1:2. We more commonly use a Matching Ratio rather than a Matching Percent. Because this Matching Percent question is required, we have entered a variety of answers (100%, 1:1, 50%, 200%?) which makes the field more pointless than helpful. I wish there was a way to either put a description under this question so our staff could be unified with our answers or that we could simply label this…

Default fiscal year
Having an option to set my foundation fiscal year to be July 1 - June 30 so the reporting default year would be in line with my fiscal year. This could be in company information so it is saved one time and the reports default to the fiscal year.

Documents view for applicants
In the applicant view, there is a feature that shows Documents uploaded by administrators. It confuses applicants as the message reads, "No Documents have been Uploaded." When our application requires documents to be uploaded, this creates worry. We then receive many phone calls from applicants worrying about whether their documents uploaded or not. This is very tedious. It would be great to be able to hide it, or tailor the message since we are not using this section.

Charity Check and Board Members
I am often asked to look up charities in charity check by board members. It would be gerat to allow the ability to give permission to Board Members to use the charity check service within the GLM.

Allow for final documents to be carried forward from LOI process to Application process to follow-up process. if there were a check-box on
Rachael - Boston
It would be great if uploaded documents from the LOI stage can be moved from that phase to the application and follow-up stage. Specifically, if you ask applicant for letters of support at the LOI stage, we don't ask for that at application stage again, but that form stays with the LOI process and doesn't move forward with application as a final document. Some applications undergo a revision, having several versions of a budget in application stage is also an issue. So being able to develop a final record in the follow-up stage would be critical to…

move the upload file button to the top in Request Summary.
When uploading documents to a request, we now have to scroll down through all of the documents to get to the upload file button. If the button is at the top, we will save time. Thank you for considering!

Pull answers/shared questions from Eval 1 to Eval 2
Would be helpful if you can pull the answers for Eval 1 into Eval 2 (if we wanted). For our Eval 2, our Board/Leadership wants to see what the Eval 1 recommendations were. At this time this is not possible - why can't Foundant make this optional rather than a restricted?

auto fill fields to make entering historical gifts faster....
Is there a way to copy grants awarded from one year to the next? I am manually entering hundreds of historical grants, but they are the same from year to year......also, there's no way to auto-populate fields from the previous entry?? It would be a huge time saver.....

Inhibit submission of an application when file is not fully uploaded
There appears to be instances when applications are allowed to submit when the file upload of a required question has not finished uploading. If the applicant does not allow the file to finish uploading, and submits, the application may be submitted, yet the document is not accessible.

allow applicants to select contacts for specific messaging
I love how, under each Process, we can determine which administrators will get submission notifications for applications or follow-ups. Couldn't the software, someday, allow the applicants to determine which contacts under their organization should receive particular types of notifications? Of course, I would still need to be able to export those selections so I can use that information for our Outlook distribution lists for other information. But it would be nice to give some control to the applicant. So often, the person who submitted the grant moves on before the reports are due, or they may just have different staff…

look at how the charity check box appears on applications from the reviewers perspective.
I know that this is one of those things that is sometimes needed and sometimes an issue.
We have many organizations that apply with us who are municipal entities - like state colleges. We collect their EIN but it does not register in Guidestar. If a charity check is run the big red box appears that There was a problem running Charity Check. No Charity Check data was found for this Organization. This is big and bold at the top of the application and elsewhere.
I'm having issues with reviewers getting distracted by this box and thinking the organization is…
