  1. It would be helpful see how many records total are selected from a list we are viewing instead of having to manually count. Some of our lists span well over 100 records for different things and if we're needing to select specific records on the list to change the statuses, there is nothing at the top of the page to indicate how many as been selected.

  2. I would like to be able to give users the ability to copy an existing system listview and save it as a personal listview.

    Currently, a system list view can only be copied if a user has EDIT access to it. This access is only granted if you are a UTA Admin or a Global Admin.

    My users are not system admins or UTA admins for Grant Manager, so they do not have the ability to EDIT or copy a system list view.

  3. It would be very useful to have a separate reporting database or the ability to replicate the database for reporting purposes.

    For us this could be useful to have a data lake that could be used externally like with Power BI. We currently run many very complex reports using SmartConnect API's against our live instance (because they are too complex for the built-in reports).
    This can cause major slowdowns in the live system with some of our more intense reports.

  4. Currently, when SmartVersioning is used, it will copy over all the fields in the Core version to the new version. It does not, however, copy over the dynamic visibility. So if the dynamic visibility changes between versions, you have to manually keep all of your dynamic visibilities updated to the newest versions. This is a pain when you have to manage dozens of dynamic visibility fields.

  6. We have many external users who are associated with more than one organization, and we have spent three years training them (including designing training materials, slide decks, and videos) to use the 'building' icon in the portal header bar to manage their active organization association.

    The new version is not 'intuitive' or 'easy' for our users to catch on to how to chance associations. Please make it possible for us to restore the building icon and its function.

  7. When you create a listview that includes advanced data table displays, they are nested into a single excel cell. It would be great if there was an easy way to export out data from advanced data tables so they are parsed into individual cells.

  8. When editing a Dynamic Visibility, there is no history of what changes were made as the system does with most parts of the platform. Some Dyn Visibility trees are long and we do not have any way to see what changes were applied.

  9. We’re wondering if there’s a setting or feature we could enable that would allow a user to see their own recent activity in SmartSimple.

    This could be somewhat general (e.g., modified grant ID X on X date/time, modified Organization X on X date/time, etc.) or more granular (e.g., updated field X on grant ID X on X date/time, created a note on grant ID X on X date/time, etc.).

    This would be helpful for internal staff members who are adding Notes or making changes to many grant records and want to look back at which grants they've recently edited.

  10. I often work in the back-up and prod sites concurrently. I rely on the top orange banner to know that when I am in back-up. However, when I am in the live site and click emulate user, I get an orange banner across the top of the prod site. This makes me nervous that I will get distracted and forget that it is the live site.

    Can the emulate banner please be a different colour than the backup banner?

  11. The current functionality within listviews allows the user, if the option is enabled, to request the download of the files in a specific Upload - Multiple file storage field to a ZIP file.

    This functionality is not currently available for the field type Upload - Image. We would like to have this option available, as the current workaround requires the configuration of 2 API services and short script to get the same result.

The List View now loads asynchronously with the rest of the page, which is beneficial because if there is a slow loading List View, it is possible to escape to another page (such as the List View settings). A further improvement to the use of List Views would be to be able to cancel a List View that is currently loading. This would allow for the editing of search terms, filters, and the number of records being displayed in order to speed up searches and system navigation.

  13. Improve the Custom Field Type "Text Box - Date" by adding the possibility to enter a range of selected dates. Today it is only possible to add a default value into the Calendar but for example it is not possible to prevent the client from selecting a date prior to the default value date. The proposition would be to have the possibility to add a range of predefined date: the client could select dates only within the specified perid of time added in the range.

  14. Currently, on a Level One record, the Logs button includes two separate items: Field Change History and Workflow History. Our developer has proposed consolidating Field Change History into Workflow History to streamline the debugging process.

    This would allow developers to view data changes—such as values passed to custom fields—directly within the workflow history. If a workflow fails, this visibility would make it easier to trace what data was modified at each step, improving troubleshooting efficiency without the need to switch between tabs.

  15. Contracts and collaborative documents across the grant and partnership lifecycle are currently managed primarily through Word documents shared via email. This creates challenges with version control, including multiple document versions, parallel edits, and manual consolidation of changes. Collaboration is fragmented, resulting in limited visibility into document updates, no single source of truth, and limited auditability of changes and negotiations. In addition, the process creates administrative pressure on a small legal function, and contracts are largely managed outside the SmartSimple platform, leading to duplicated documentation and limited traceability.

  16. The search functionality for the end users is far too strict, to where you will get different results when using an apostrophe versus not using one. Being able to incorporate AI into this search or another method to simulate a fuzzy search will vastly improve the end user experience when using the search functionality.

  17. It would be really helpful to have the option in the various Security Matrix sections to toggle all the checkboxes on or off across for a particular field, not just down for a Role or Status.

  18. Consider allowing concurrent record access as long as same field (or alternatively) same tab isn't being edited. There's good reason to have record locks for many orgs and use cases, but the whole record doesn't necessarily need to be locked.

    Applicants and grantees typically wait until the deadline to submit. Suppose two staff members are collaborating simultaneously on different tabs / fields as deadline approaches. With record locks, there's a fair bit of coordination w/ applicant grantee to submit in timely fashion. If record locks were made at field or tab as opposed to record as a whole, it would…

  20. A recent SmartSimple update included a change with the GuideStar Charity Check feature, where it now pulls a GuideStar Pro report versus just pulling the Charity Check report. I'm not sure if it's just us or if there are any other clients have found this to be burdensome to their processes for a couple of reasons.

    1) It now takes so much longer for the report to be pulled into the record (at least 5-10 minutes). So, it's not as immediate as it once was.

    2) We don't use all of the other information that is in the Pro report.…
