There is the ability to customize the text in the portal. Headings can be edited in Portal Options>Portal Settings. Then select the profile designation you would like to edit. Button colors and colors on the button text can be customized, but not the text within the button.
In the same section, Portal Options> Portal Content controls text in different areas of the portal. Please reference the help article for further instruction.

Request #2 and #3 are complete. There is a content block that can be customized in Portal Options: Portal Options>Portal Content>Profile tab>portal_profile_header. The option to logout has been moved to the top menu next to change profile.

Just bumping this - as most community foundations have generally the same language in play, but some slight changes happen per the audience and region. Being able to modify the template text in buttons on the site would be immensely helpful for us.
