CRM
I've been asking about Foundant having overall CRM capabilities and was under the impression that that functionality was in the pipeline. I appreciate the new features, but so far, we still do not have the ability to track and report on interactions with individuals who are not applicants. I realize I can add any contacts to the system, but if they aren't an applicant, there is no way to report on those entries. I asked about categorizing individuals, for example, political, religious, medical, law enforcement, etc., and I was told a category field could be created, but that there is no way to download/report on that list if they aren't tied to an application. I have been so hopeful that Foundant would fill this need. We're a very lean foundation of 3, and I cringe at the thought of having to take on another database.
Why do we need this? We don't just fund, we offer educational/capacity building opportunities and try to connect community leaders and others with influence and resources with our nonprofits to help them accomplish their missions.
What are others using to track contacts outside of applicants? Systems like Salesforce are overkill for us.
Is a way to track contacts other than applicants something others need?
