  2. Problem: Platform upgrades often introduce breaking changes with limited advance notice. Release information typically arrives too close to the upgrade window, leaving insufficient time to assess impact, migrate customizations, and test integrations. This results in avoidable production issues and reactive support tickets.

    Key Gaps:
    Release notes are usually available only 2–4 weeks before upgrade
    Non-prod/backup instances are upgraded too close to prod
    Release notes are large and hard to filter for relevant breaking changes
    Opening a support ticket is the only way to get clarification

  4. We need the ability to upload new files after previous files have been removed through the data retention policy. To support this, it may be necessary to introduce an additional retention option—for example, an option that removes the file/data but unlocks the field for new uploads, as opposed to the current setting that simply removes the file/data.

    A typical use case is annual reporting, where applicants are required to submit fresh documentation each year in the same report. In these scenarios, the field must be cleared according to retention rules, but still remain open for new uploads moving forward.

  5. It would be helpful if "Lookup - Organization and People" field type could be updated via workflow task. Currently, If you try to add this field in an "Update custom field value task" you get a message "Not Records Found".

    In a process where an organization is moved to a specific status and some fields are updated via workflow, it would be nice to also be able to update the "Lookup - Organization and People" ones.

  6. The font and text size used in the system-generated email with the subject “Confirm Your New Email Address” are not consistent with the formatting used in other system-generated emails. A fix related to this issue is scheduled for the February release as part of the ticket referenced below.

    Given this, could we introduce a configuration control for this email template—similar to what is currently available for password-reset and new-user emails? Having this control would allow us to adjust the text and font formatting as needed to meet branding or client requirements.

  10. All grantees are required to complete an application for every grant, regardless of how it is initiated. Need to be able to send grant requests that start in the donor portal in CommunitySuite into SmartSimple in a pre-approval status so that applicants can complete an application.

  11. We would like to propose that SmartSimple develops support for SCIM 2.0 (System for Cross-domain Identity Management).

    We're moving towards automated provisioning and de-provisioning of users directly from Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). SCIM 2.0 is the industry standard protocol for this purpose, and is already supported by Entra ID as well as most modern identity and access management systems.

    Efficiency: Automating user lifecycle management reduces manual administrative tasks and minimizes delays in onboarding and offboarding users.

    Security: Automatic de-provisioning ensures timely removal of access when people leave the organisation, reducing the risk of orphaned accounts and potential breaches.

  12. It would be nice to have a single place to manage all translations: User Roles, Types, Status, Standard Fields, Custom fields, Submit Buttons, Tasks, List Views, Portals, Shortcuts...
    1) See, per language, existing translations and which translations are missing
    2) Batch delete of translations
    3) Export, per language, all translations in a single Excel file, reimport the same file with updated translations

  14. Email Anything uses UUIDs --- which work well for emails that originate from SmartSimple, but require an extra step to go find UUID if you're trying to route an email to a SmartSimple object for storage/recordkeeping.

    We'd love to see a UUID aliasing solution in the product roadmap. The biggest use case is for external users who are corresponding with staff based on an known, common attribute of the L1 application record (e.g. application ID). If they could add something like [client]-[opp]-[recordid]@smartsimple.com to the email thread as an alias for the L1 record of interest, it'd be a lot easier…

  15. When running a report on an Organization Profile with address book enabled, it seems that it is only possible for the report to return one address (the one designated as primary).

    In our configuration we have allowed users to enter 1 record for each address type: Mailing and Physical. The idea is that they might have a physical location but prefer to get mail at a PO Box, for instance.

    Only the Mailing Address fields show up when a report is run with the Company dataset. It would be great to somehow get a report to display each address type…

  16. With the BI dashboards set up it is possible to drill down to the project number, however it would be extremely useful to be able to open the project directly from the dashboard rather than having to make a note of the project number and then loading the submission manager to view it.

  17. The Object ID can be included in reports, however it would also be useful if the object name could be included too - for example, Workflow, Custom Filed, UTA Name, etc.

You can create granular filters from the Grant Manager that pull from Organization and Contact and Activity fields, but then if you want to do the same from the Organization Manager or Contact Managers, you only have access to the specific fields on those UTAs. It would be amazing to be able to have the same filter access so you could for example pull a list of all Organizations with a Grant status: Active in 2025.
