Search Organization by Sort Name
I don't know if there is another way to do this, but the last time this suggestion was posed, only one person voted and it got Archived. :(
What I want to see, is; if an Organization has a name change, that we can still find the organization by the old name. We update the Org. name ourselves (it is in lock down from Applicants/Contacts) and we add into the Sort Name with the new name and then (Formely: Old Org Name). My imagination tells me that we use to be able to search by Sort Name as well, but we can't.
When a team member is looking for something from historical documents and just remembers the old name, we have to all brainstorm together to remember what the new name is. It takes too much brain power and time to do that...there has to be another way! We have sometimes resorted to looking at organizations by location, but that is also time consuming.
If it is possible to include the sort name in searches, please do! I see some "considerations" for expanding searches for other spellings etc. so maybe we can be more expansive on where the search is pulling from? Just an idea!
