put a search box on the dashboard
A large percentage of the time, when I log in, I'm doing so because I want to check something about a particular organization. I wish that there were a search box on the dashboard - this seems like a standard thing for most websites. Right now, there's an extra step in that I have to go to the organization search page. I don't know if you can do this with the current software architecture, but it would be great to have just one box that would search all fields for both organizations and contacts - and then if I need to specify per field, I can go to the advanced search page.

A wonderful idea. There are a number of times that I can recall specifics of a request but not the name of the organization or the town in which it is located so then I am forced to search by grant cycles - a slow and tedious process. A universal search box would be a big help.

YES times 2!!! I think that a universal search box would be a great idea, and would really save us some time! I constantly go into the system for different reasons and a search button would certainly help me to narrow down my search to what I need immediately.

Yes! Make it a universal search. I may need to find something that was only mentioned in comments or in the narrative but don't remember which organization so a universal search would solve that problem. I could really use one right now!
