Fund Beneficiary Grantees/Funds: Add ability for a fund to designate its own fund as beneficiary
Some fund agreements require a portion of spending be reinvested back into the fund's principal
Currently, CSuite does not allow a fund to be its own beneficiary. Therefore, a manual journal entry is processed annually to reclass the reinvested amount from spendable to principal. And it is must be entered after Create Spendable Grants has been completed.
Example:
- 80% of spending granted externally
- 20% must be reinvested into the fund's principal
- After "Create Spendable Grant" runs, a manual journal entry is posted to reclass the 20% from spendable to principal.
Having the ability to designate the fund as a beneficiary would result in Create Spendable creating two grants automatically, split between the external grantee and reinvestment into fund's principal. In addition, this would provide transparency on fund statements as well. Right now the donor does not see the reclass into principal each year.
