Enable Budget Imports with Line-Item Detail Under a Single GL Account
It would be very helpful if Foundant allowed budgeted accounts to include multiple line items (subcategories) within a single GL account or subaccount, rather than restricting imports to one total amount per account.
Currently, Foundant only allows one total per account (e.g., Account 4XXXX = $10,000). In practice, this total is often made up of multiple components (e.g., Consulting $5,000, Team Meetings $5,000). This limitation forces users to track supporting details outside the system, reducing visibility, increasing manual work, and creating a higher risk of error.
I would like to see a budget function that supports multiple rows per GL account with an additional field such as “Line Description.” The system would roll these line items up into a total per account and/or subaccount while preserving detail for reporting, particularly when comparing budget vs. actuals.
