Streamline data entry for discretionary gifts and historical grants for former grantees
When I enter either a discretionary grant or a historical grant, why do I have to go through and enter grant type and a due date? I've already cut the checks and am usually trying to quickly enter the data in the system at the end of the year. Or I may have a former grantee that hasn't been on Foundant before and I need to enter historical information quickly. These two types of payments need to have some sort of streamlined entry,

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the question / suggestion. To answer it, the system depends on certain data being there ... for instance, if something is granted, it needs a grant type and decision date. If we made those optional, we'd have to spend a lot of time and effort handling that within the reporting, merging, data export, and search requests and decisions functionality.
There are probably some ways we could make it easier - but if the data you are entering for each request is not the same, it's hard to do it in batch. And the design for creating a streamlined entry system is pretty complex too, at least when it comes to handling a variety of use cases. Can you provide some details around what you'd like to see?
Finally, it'd be good to hear from more users regarding their need for something like this. There are a lot of suggestions, and it's certainly challenging for us to prioritize them, so additional user feedback is important.
Thanks again for taking the time to submit this - look forward to additional feedback.
