Accounting/checkwriting software
It would be great if an accounting/checkwriting software could be incorporated or integrated with GLM. To be able to award a grant and then have the amount merged with something like Quickbooks so that checks can then be generated would be a real time saver. At the present time, this is the only part of our grant process which must be done outside of GLM.
Thanks!

I agree that the link between GLM and the software system is currently lacking. It would be great if an approved grant could feed into the accounting system (in our case, Xero), and then speak back to GLM to mark the installment as "paid". All of that needs to be tracked manually at this point.

We would love to see integration with Quickbooks too!

Hi all,
Given the diversity of needs we heard at the sessions we had around QuickBooks integration at Summit in October, we're not going to be working on a QuickBooks integration in the foreseeable future.
However, we will be looking at ways to improve making payments in the system as we definitely realize that can be a pain point.
This is not to say we will never look at integration with QuickBooks, but until we work through more features that will benefit more of our client base, it's hard to justify doing this work.
Thanks again for all the suggestions and input.

Hi all,
Thanks for the feedback. I'm looking forward to hearing from other users so we can continue to understand what users would consider and so we can work to prioritize this feature.

Hi Chris,
The Genuardi Family Foundation currently uses QuickBooks Premier to print our grant checks. We would most definitly consider the online version of QuickBooks if a one-way integration was offered.
Thanks

Hi Chris,
We are using QuickBooks online at the Carolyn Foundation. Even if it only worked in one direction, it would be a great start and would make us happy.
Thanks

Here at the Kern Family Foundation,
We use the 3 user premier version of Quickbooks -- desktop version and we would be happy to have at least a one-way intergration to quickbooks. From Foundant to Quickbooks.

Chris,
We are using QuickBooks Pro since it is more robust (especially for reporting) than QuickBooks online.

Hi Nancy, Kristen, and Carolyn,
Thanks for taking the time to add your input. At this point, no direct interface between GLM and an accounting system exists (though some folks are manually exporting data and importing that data into their other systems).
We are tentatively exploring an integration with QuickBooks. One of the questions we need to address is if this integration needs to be bi-directional. From what we understand, this integration is most valuable if it goes both ways. Another outstanding question we need to investigate is around the willingness of clients to move to QuickBooks online if they are currently not using that solution.
I'd definitely be interested in your input. While we believe there is value in this feature, we want to make sure it's something that a good percentage of users will be able to take advantage of. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

We are also interested in an interface with Quickbooks. Does anyone have suggestions for the most efficient way to export/extract data for inputting into quickbooks?

After listening to the Webinar, I'd also like to concur that having a link to Quickbooks would be very helpful and would make the process more efficient. This would be a great enhancement to the software.
Thanks for your consideration.

Nancy,
I believe we have a fair number of customers using Quickbooks and other accounting packages. I'd like to give you a call if I might around some more specifics as to what would be helpful for you.
I'm pretty sure there are others on the board that could use some form Quickbooks (or other packages) integration. Please chime in. We're looking for input and expertise. Thank you!
