Duplicate Organization profiles
While I am new to the organization that I am working with, I am in the process of merging duplicate organiztion profiles and would like to make a suggestion. Often times duplicate organizations profiles are formed because either the person applying does not know they already have a profile set up or simply the password has been lost in translation as different people take over grant applications, etc.
What I would like to see is if there is a way that when a potential grantee goes to apply, the system can recognize if their organization already has a profile in the system and have a message pop up that indicates this when the person is applying. At this point then, they could either be given the option to enter that profile or if they do not know the password, be given an option to reset the password so they can access that profile rather than starting a new profile and thus avoid creating the duplicate profile.

Hi Jessica,
This is currently in our Demo environment and will be released into production tonight (July 8) as part of our 4.6.0 release.
By default, it's not enabled. You will have to contact your CSM (client success manager) or support to have it enabled. To enable it, we'll need the message you want to display to someone who is trying to register a duplicate organization. Note that at this point, while the person registering will see that message, they will not be prevented from continuing.
Thanks again for the suggestion,

Jessica,
Thank you so much for taking the time to post your idea. We are working on the duplicate organization challenge on a number of fronts:
Catching the duplicate BEFORE it happens. This will never be 100%, but there is significant room for progress here.
Noting and cleaning up existing duplicate organizations in a easy and efficient fashion.
Enhancing visibility for users from the same organization to see one another's activity.
We have to be careful around allowing access to the organization profile for a few reasons:
EIN (Tax ID) is probably going to be part of our initial criteria for identifying duplicate organizations. While this works most of the time, there are challenges with national non-profits (Red Cross or YMCA for example) where most foundations prefer to think of each branch as a separate organization even though they share the same EIN.
For many/most of our clients, it would be a significant security issue to allow anyone to enter/be added to an organization's profile without some due diligence.
There have been some other great post related to your suggestion:
Let Organizations Search by EIN Number
Allow applicants to correct org information
Thank you again Jessica!
