Read only access for Auditor
Greetings:
Our auditor has requested an account on our grant system to spot check our work. I have two questions:
Do other "Foundations" allow their auditors direct access to Foundant?
If so, how do you set-up and manage a "read-only" account?
Thanking you in advance...

Hi everyone,
In 4.6.0 - which is currently in Demo and slated to go to Production on Tuesday, July 8 - we have added an "Auditor" role, which should address the needs expressed here.It is a read-only role, and is described in more detail in the release notes for 4.6.0.
When you get a chance to review it, please let me know if you have any feedback. Thanks again for all of your suggestions,

I like the idea of this sort of an "oversight" designation. We award funds to organizations that exist within the University system. The Grants/Awards staff at the University wants access to view completed reports and applications but the actual grantees don't want them to be able to accidentally modify anything. Some way to designate someone to SEE everything but MODIFY nothing. :)

My auditor is in our conference at this very moment scrunching around our system as a "Full Administrator". I love the idea of an "Admin Lite" role. I think it is too awkward to switch him to board member status on the 4th of 5 days...

Hello Greg and Bob,
It looks like I am way behind on weighing in here...Bob is correct in that the Board Member role allows access to Search Decisions where an auditor would only have read only access.
Also, with the addition of the new Shared Documents area in which Administrators can upload documents and give permission to either Staff Evaluators or Board Members or both you would be able to upload year end reports or any other documents for review.
We will also continue to explore the possibility of adding what might be considered an "Admin Lite" role for visibility type purposes.
Please let us know if you have further questions or comments on this issue.
Thank you,

This question has crossed my mind as we reach year end, and begin preparations for a visit by our field auditor next quarter. It would appear assigning the auditor with a Board Member role would provide sufficient access to grant records. Has anyone else tried this approach?
