Communicating Changes within a Returning Agency
We have been using Foundant long enough that agencies are submitting new requests to the foundation. Several forget their log in information and create new accounts that we subsequently merge. But several more are on the ball.
I was wondering if there could be a pop up message for returning nonprofits that asks if there have been any changes with the agency such as a new address, executive director, website, email, etc.?
We recently had an experience with a change in address. Neither the agency or the foundation realized we had the old P.O. Box and mailed the grant check to a bad address (up until that time our correspondence with the agency was all by email).
Thanks for your help.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for touching base. I like the first part of the
warning message. My concern is the last sentence and the suggestion that
creating a duplicate organization may reduce chances for funding. While
this message would certainly gain the attention of agencies, it may provide
them with a greater degree of angst and for us a duplicate organization would
not reduce chances for funding – just means we have more clean up on our
end.I like that you have added the sentence.. If your organization
information does not appear correct, contact the funder. We have already
had one agency in this current cycle email us with changes. A big help in
keeping up with address changes.Let me know if you need anything else.

Hi Laura,
Thanks for the suggestion. This is something I've heard again and again, and is working it's way up the product idea list.
My question when I'm given this scenario is this:
- Would it be acceptable to give a warning message like this: "It appears like the organization you are trying to create already exists. Please contact the foundation so they can add you as a user. If you continue, you may create a duplicate organization, which may reduce your chances for receiving funding."This isn't perfect - I certainly realize that. But it seems like it'd address a lot of issues folks are having.
Thanks in advance for any feedback you can provide.
