Sort By for organizations that use (The)
It would be helpful if organizations that use (The) in their names can be organized (Sort By) alphabetically throughout the entire software (Application Submitted, Complete, Open, Closed, Granted, etc). Currently, "Sort By" only works properly under the Contacts-Organizations' list.
Thanks!

Yay Rossana!
One way databases often manage this is to offer a "sort as" field in the back end.
The applicant enters: The Children's Hospital
The admin enters Children's Hospital in a "sort as" field.
It also helps when you have a DBA (doing business as) or FBO (for the benefit of)
Example: The legal name may be Urban Revival, Inc. but they do business as and everybody knows them as City Life .
I would enter City Live in the Sort As field as well to get my lists aphabetized.
This takes a bit of programming finesse because you need to always associate the Sort As field with the Org Name field entered by the applicant.

I second Rosanna's idea; this is something that I've been meaning to post fro a while.
And Raymond, to your question, I would say yes -- sort by the sort by field, but still display the full organization name, either with the "The" at the front of the organization name, (e.g., "The Children's School"), or the back separated by a comma (e.g., "Children's School, The")

I'll submit that as an enhancement to our backlog. We should be consistent on this. I'm assuming you would like to sort by the "Sort By" field but still display the proper organization name?
Thank you!
