Providing Total Historical Grants Since Inception on the Fund Statements
In the past through Endowment Solutions, our fund statements always showed the total dollar amount for grants distributed from an individual fund. This was a great marketing tool where you can compare total gifts, to total grants, to current balances. Many of our customers use the fund statement to share with their members, so having it just on the fund advisor portal doesn't always get it in front of others who may contribute.
With our transition to Foundant, we found that for all-time grant totals, there isn’t a standard/automated way to show a fund’s all-time grantmaking total on Fund Statements. The only way this can be done is to have a custom field on a Fund, and manually keeping it updated. This works since custom fields can be included in fund statements. But this isn’t a great option, requires manual work, and is prone to error. I've attached one of our past statement example to show how easy this was to share.
