Limit Applicant's Draft Applications within a Process
Please consider adding the option in the Process Summary that allows us to limit the number of applications an applicant can begin within that process. We only accept one application for most of our grant programs and would like to be able to set a limit to the number of applications one can start. Currently, applicants can start multiple drafts of an application. This creates lots of abandoned applications.
The Apply button could be deactivated and greyed out once an applicant has reached the limit of applications that can be drafted and submitted within the process.

Bumping this back to the top of the list - when we have multiple processes running (just increased again this year, in the 30s) and 550 active applications, we need a better way to keep the numbers accurate and moving things through the process clean and as efficient as we can. Please limit them to one application start within a process and change the button to "Continue" on the apply page (as it appears in the dashboard) or direct them to the dashboard. Without clear direction (even with my very regular emails to applicants at start and through the process, plus the warning messages set) there are students who have started 2-3 applications within a process....and then submitted each of them complete. This gets messy when getting all of these applications connected with reviewers and causes delays. There either needs to be a limit of one application to start and continue per process, or a way to merge multiple applications. The first option would be less messy and time consuming. Thanks for considering this.

I agree with this suggestion from a couple of years ago -- multiple drafts from the same person for the same organization is confusing and time-consuming to deal with. Is this still under consideration? Sammie's suggestions would work--especially the hard stop.

Alternatively, is there a way to set-up system warning/alert as the applicant begins a new application within a process, and point them to previous application(s) started? Thus giving the user the option to discard or go back to previous application?

Yes, please! Students keep opening multiple drafts for the same process forget which one they are using and then they end up with a transcript request on one and a recommendation on another. It just creates more work all around. There is no scenario for us where especially students should ever be putting in more than one application to the same process.

It would be helpful if the apply button were greyed out after they submit. I too am experiencing students who are submitting multiple times. It is too confusing for the student.
