Limit Third Party Requests
Only allow applicants to send ONE third party email request. Students will send multiple requests and then the links become inactive confusing the third parties.

Rather than limiting the requests, it would be more effective for me to be able to cancel pending third-party requests that are no longer needed. When I upload letters for references as an admin, the tally still shows the applicant 0/2 for the letters even though we have them. Also, when the applicant removes an address after sending the request, the automated reminder email still goes out. We need to be able to cancel those requests that were fulfilled in a different way. It would be nice if the applicant could cancel them, too. Maybe when they go to edit the email address field after having sent a request, they could be prompted and given the option to cancel the pending request to the address they are removing.

I've run into this regularly this scholarship application season as well. I would suggest a lock on the third party email function that an administrator can unlock. In other words, once the student puts an email address in and sends the request email, lock that field. Many of our students sent the first email, deleted that email address and sent a second (and sometimes third) email to multiple people they wanted to collect letters of recommendation from. It was very rarely a case of mistyping an email address, though that did happen.
