stop accepting applications
I think it would be nice to implement a "soft deadline" or have a process not allow new applications to be started 3-4 days before the hard deadline date. I am using the universal application feature in SLM and we get so many applicants who start the application in that few days before the deadline. Most of the applications end up getting abandoned because students realize there is a lot more information that have to complete. I also get frantic emails from 3rd Parties asking if they have time to submit their letters of recommendation late. We have 45 scholarships linked to the universal application which means one deadline so I want to decrease the amount of questions I get during the deadline time.
