User Information Requirements
It would be extremely helpful if administrators could have a "Skip Required Field Validation" option for each required field, and on an individual user basis.
Prior to switching to SLM, we did not require applicants to enter their middle name and many times they would just enter a middle initial. But it makes so much more sense to require their middle name because of the number of new applicants (around 1000) each year that will use the system the future. This is how we differentiate between applicants with the same first and last names.
Now that we require applicants to submit their middle name, I have gotten a weird amount of people reaching out that don't have middle names. So applicants enter in "N/A", "." or just repeat their first name. I don't want to not make it a requirement because it is needed information especially looking way down the line the future so I am able to select "skip required validation fields" for all fields, but then whenever an applicant has to update their information, they will have to do it again. We also have at least 100 international applicants for one of our scholarships so we keep running into these same types of issues especially when it comes to our applicants in Mexico & India.
