I'm just jumping on the bandwagon in agreement with many of these comments. While I'm sure you had your reasons to update, if the only option is to keep it this way or revert back to how it was, then I vote to go back. The only change I like is that I can choose the payment date while entering a grant.
And don't get me started on other items such as the attached files being on a different tab or the fact that I can no longer choose shortcuts in the ribbon at the top of the screen which requires I do even more clicking. -

Backing up what others have said, clicking on multiple tabs in order to check for special notes and files is cumbersome.

Who asked for this redesign? As others have mentioned, this update makes it more cumbersome because I must now click on multiple tabs in order to check for special instructions from our donors, plus find any attached forms we might require. It was so much easier and more efficient to verify everything when it was all on ONE screen!

Why were these updates to the Grants area deemed necessary? Who asked for these and wanted them? Like others have said, it is CUMBERSOME to have to bounce from tab to tab for information that was so much more readily accessible when all on one tab. It is not efficient for me as a grant creator or grant proofer. Please change it back! I would rather have a longer page to scroll down/through then have to click into separate tabs.

I don't want to sound too desperate here, but I wanted to express my deepest concern with this UI change to grants. It will make it much more difficult to verify and review grants before posting them. Having to toggle between the different tabs to see files, notes, etc. is arduous. The "attached files" tab is already so often missed or disregarded since the change was made to donations that I really don't foresee it being beneficial to grants. It also makes it much messier during audit period as before when we have been asked for grant backup documentation, we've been able to just choose "print page" and get the grant approval, funding, notes, and general information all in one print out. With this update, we would have to save multiple print outs to get the same outcome.

As others have mentioned, the description field should not be mandatory. Many of our donors do not include a grant description when submitting grants through the portal and I anticipate this causing issues/frustration for them.
I do not think updating the grant interface was a necessary change. If anything, it is now more difficult for grant reviewers to verify information because they need to switch between different tabs (request, files, notes, etc.) for backup as opposed to everything being listed on one page. -

Please, please, please, please do not require a description. Most donor advised fund advisors do not include a description because more often than not, it is a general gift. We include language in the grant letter when it is a general gift, so there is no need for a description to be included. Requiring a description will cause confusion for our advisors that may or may not already struggle to use the portal. It will create more work for grant creators, as well. If you want to offer the option to require a description, that would be fine. There probably are some clients who would choose that, but I do not think the majority of foundation's want or need the description to be required.
I would also like to add that I do not think the updates are necessary. There are more pressing aspects of CSuite that need to prioritized, such as campaigns and making CSuite more of an advancement/stewardship tool. CSuite does a great job at grant and investment management. Do not fix what is not broken.

I would prefer the description field not be required. Many donor advised distributions are not for specific programs/ideas of the charities to which they are being made.

I am fine with all of the required fields (we automatically fill all of these in for every grant already - including general support).
That said, I'm not sure how this really makes anything better. I need to read through all options for every grant to ensure that it is filled out completely, so splitting it into quandrants doesn't really do much.
I would MUCH MUCH prefer instead to just be able to get my shortcuts back at the top of the screen to go directly to grants rather than having to toggle my way to grants, funds, etc.
I would also prefer to have at least some of the the left-hand menu back (i.e. for edit payment). I find that easier than scrolling all the way down to the bottom of the grant to change/edit. -

Please make it optional to require the description field in grants be populated. We get many DAF grant requests that are for general support of the organization and do not have a description. I got an error when trying to create a new grant without a description, but after creating I could go back into the grant, edit it to remove the description, and save without an error. It would be ideal if the grant description field wasn't required from the beginning, especially for portal grant requests. Thanks for considering!
