Improve student applicant experience in SLM
The idea is that 3rd party recommenders should only be invited one-time to recommend eligible students.
With the roll out of the new student dashboard in SLM, ineligible students are seeing "Action Needed" on their dashboards if they have outstanding recommendations.
The problem is twofold 1) Ineligible students believe they qualify or have action items 2) recommenders are wasting their time
Right now, the system either seeks recommendation for ineligible students (if 3rd party questions are built into the UA) OR requires eligible students to seek multiple recommendations from the same people for each eligible scholarship (if 3rd party questions…

Thoughts on Renewable Scholarships
As a scholarship admin, I want a way to communicate with students about the renewal requirements for an opportunity within the system.
- can do with email types, but it requires lots of manual workAs a scholarship admin, I want to remove the human review of follow-up forms to verify renewal eligibility.
I want to set rules for if a follow-up should be marked complete and if they don't does it kick back to draft, email the students, etc.
Examples of eligibility criteria for renewal
- GPA

Automated Scoring
We receive approximately 600 applicants through our universal application each cycle. It would be great if certain components of the application could be automatically scored such as GPA or SAI from FAFSA.
Automating these purely objective metrics would significantly reduce the time burden on reviewers and administrators. Most important to me is minimizing the need for follow-up corrections due to scoring inconsistencies.

Spelling/Grammar Check Tool in SLM Scholarship Applications
It would be helpful for SLM to include a spelling/grammar check tool within the scholarship applications for students to use when writing their essays or short answer responses. I know that some internet browsers have a spell check included, but it might be helpful from the student side to have a more comprehensive tool to help with spelling, grammar, etc. as they write their responses.

Third Party Dashboard - Request with Common Opportunities
Looking for a way that when someone goes into their 3rd party dashboard, they can see all the processes/opportunities that are grouped together and will be marked complete when they upload an item. See example of possible format attached.

third party back to draft (reopen) / UI/UX for Save/Submit
During this UA cycle I have had an inordinate number of third party requests accidentally click Submit instead of Save, and then not be able to edit their request, they email me, they have to send me what they want to put in the form, and then I add it for them.
It would be great if we could address this in two ways: 1) allow administrators to "revert back to draft" or reopen the third party submissions. They would still need to communicate with me, but it would save their time of opening the request, copying/pasting questions to rewrite…

When using the LOI process, there are buttons that say "Save LOI" and "LOI Complete." We use the LOI process for other things than just an LOI, including sponsorship requests. It's confusing to have these buttons when the request isn't an LOI. Would be wonderful if we can customize the language in those buttons. If not, changing those buttons to something more generic like "Save Request" and "Request Complete" would help them be relevant to most scenarios.

No warning for required fields missing on UA questions
On any question type, if you miss a required field and click into the Applicant Opportunities tab to select opp specifics and try to save, there is no warning showing you have missed filling in a required space, the page goes nowhere, nothing occurs.
Please add a warning of some sort that a required field is missing.5 votes -
fonts
Please include the ability to select specific fonts throughout the SLM platform, in addition to a button that removes text formatting, so that processes, email templates, and all text experienced from a user can be uniform and consistent.
I sometimes copy and paste text from other sources, like a Google Doc, Chat GPT, etc. and the platform gives us no way to keep fonts and formatting consistent. This is such a basic feature that really should be implemented ASAP. Thank you!

Automatically generated request ID
We have long project names for our applications and an automatically generated request ID (example 20240041) that includes the year, would be helpful to identify and search for a specific request, without needing to remember the project name or organization name.

Wrapping text in Short Answer Questions
It would be great if text boxes wrapped in the application like the tables do now.

SLM UA Separate auto emails: One for submitting Eligibility Quiz & One for submitting completed Application
(Applicable to the UA) We need to have two separate automated emails: one for when students submit their eligibility quiz (to confirm the quiz has been submitted and to then share information on next steps) and one for when they complete a full application for each of their eligible scholarship opportunities. Is this in the works for the UA? Currently the same "thank you for submitting your application" email is being sent to students when they submit their eligibility quiz AND when they submit their complete applications. This is causing students confusion.

universal application in GLM
It would be great to have a universal application in GLM like in SLM. Where you can enter the eligibility of each process in the universe and applicants only have to fill out 1 application and get matched to what they actually qualify for. This is crucial!

Adding a Language Translation Feature
It would be nice to add a language translation feature for our applicants. This would help us reach more people.

GLM Initial Set-up of New Account
We've had many grant award checks returned for "no receptacle" or "insufficient address" due to the application in GLM auto filling with whatever address was put in when the organization's account was initially set up. Most people will put their physical address in this spot. It would be helpful if when setting up new accounts in GLM both the mailing address and the physical address of an organization were required, then for the mailing address to be the default for the grant application. Any way around this issue?

UA - administrator visibility of amount spendable per opportunity
I've heard more than one client that it would be helpful to have a space in SLM/UA to track the spendable amount of each opportunity (similar to the process budget). The clients would use this question to track amounts awarded against the spendable balance to know "where they are" in the balance. If this could integrate from CSuite, that would be even better, but non-integrated clients have also asked for this so ideally, it's something that needs either option.

Universal Application Column Filters
It would be very helpful to add an additional one or two column filters to the process, applicant, project name and eval 1 & 2 headings. I have Graduating High School and Applicant ID currently set. I would like to add Student Status and graduating year so I can see at a glance what I need for the applicant. I have to go into the application to get the info I need which can be time consuming.

Two types of application submission emails for Universal
Within the Universal application, we need two different automatic emails for submission verifications. One for the Universal submission, and one for the opportunity submissions within the Universal. One generic submission verification is confusing to applicants

SLM Student Contact Information - Changes for Consistency
For the screen in which SLM users input their contact information, please add a drop-down menu for the prefix. Additionally, include instructions reminding users to use proper case when entering their name and address. This will help reduce the amount of cleanup work required by the Foundation.
